This place was great! I loved that there is access to a recreation center with a pool, games, basketball court, and small playground just 2 miles away. It’s great for kids. The cabin was comfortable, loved that there is AC and heat. The driveway may be a little steep but not necessarily a negative. I loved that there was a loft with 4 twin size beds, games, air hockey, and tv lounge area. The area feels peaceful; however, you’re not too isolated. I would and plan on staying here again!

Description of listing needs to be updated. No dishwasher. might want to add no slip tabs to tub for guests. Some of the towels provided had pet and human hair still on them. House seemed to be surfaced cleaned.

The only issue was trash. We stayed 5 nights and were only allowed 2 trash bags. Any extra was 5.

Great Dog Friendly Cabin

We had a great time staying at this cabin for a mom and sun end of summer trip. We enjoyed our time visiting Alpine and White Pines Lakes and at the community swimming pool. Great are and wonderful comfy cabin! My one suggestion is cushions for the deck chairs.

Great New Years getaway.

Besides the town power going out shortening our trip, we had a great time when we were up there. House was clean and the hosts were great to communicate with. Would book with them again!

Perfect getaway in the woods!

We spent thanksgiving weekend enjoying a peaceful quiet and relaxing time. Cabin was perfect. Large wood stove to heat the cabin, plenty of room for 8 people. Store and restaurants 15 minutes away. Brewery only 5 minutes away.

Very cozy place

The place was just like the picture it was in a good neighborhood, just the place had some spider webs and the rugs in the entrance of the house where dirty , the towels look old and dirty . Other than that it was good we enjoyed the stay

Cabin Getaway

Cute cozy cabin with AC!!! Its like a condo apartment. The loft on top is a nice touch for extra space. 1 bathroom and 1 half restroom (toilet and sink). Great sceneries all around. The recreational center was our go to place for kidos to swim and play. Recommend to get away a nenjpy nature.

Nice cozy cabin, enjoyed unwinding here. Good location and set back from neighbors so felt private. Checking in wasn’t bad except for cell phone service to send messages and make calls is not great. Which is fine however it was required to send an image and text for checking in which was not going through. Understandable we are staying in more of nature however the cleaning could have been much better. Property was responsive when we needed to find a solution to unclean bedding live and dead spiders throughout and in most beds. Note no laundry access here. Would have appreciated a check-in the next day to see how things were going after getting in previous night to not being able to sleep in beds until linens were changed out. Unable to use beds in the loft as didn’t feel comfortable with our daughter sleeping up there with the dust and cobwebs/spiders. Understand if the home hadn’t been rented in a while, but that may make a case for better cleaning when having a guests check in if it’s been a while. Description is accurate and would have loved to make this a repeat stay, however not to sure about up keep.

Nice Stay at Whispering Pines

The house was clean and fairly well appointed. The kitchen was tiny. The plates and bowls were not ideal. The kitchen table chairs were in poor condition and the leather was literally disinegrating. The access to the pool was awesome - location is great. Nice to have AC as it was hot. Overall a nice place to stay.

Thanksgiving 2023 trip

We loved the house and property it was perfect. The house could have been a little cleaner, there were alot of spider webs and spiders must have found 8 within the first couple hours. Also could use measuremening cups in the kitchen. Other than that the house was perfect, we would happily stay there again.

Cozy Cabin

The cabin was clean and cozy but in need of some updates. The dining room chairs were very worn to the point of falling apart. Only one dishtowel was provided for a stay of 4 days. We did have a pleasant time but with a little more attention it would have even better.

Perfect spring escape

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our trip to the snow had to be rescheduled because of winter storms, and Sheila w/ Sierra Vacation Rentals facilitated the changes. She was super helpful. This cabin was great for our family. The kids enjoyed the upstairs with the foosball table, Bear Valley is nearby, and its the perfect place to work from when everybody is busy playing outside! We will come back!

Cozy, relaxing getaway

Such a cute property. I love the location and it was close to lake Alpine. The place was cozy, comfortable and relaxing. Enough space for a family with the upstairs loft. Kitchen well stocked, enough bath linens and visitor guide book was helpful! Having access to the pool was the best feature!!! Thinking about coming back in winter for some snow fun. Just a couple suggestion opportunities - need more fans because it was hot and there is no AC. Also the DVD selection for the downstairs TV was great but the DVD player upstairs wasn't blue ray.

Nice Stay in a Cozy House!

We stayed in this house for three days during the Christmas break with our friends and family, totaling six people. The house was very nice and clean, and the air conditioning and heating worked very well, keeping us warm and comfortable.The neighborhood was quiet, which made it easy to relax. The house had a warm atmosphere and a pleasant smell that made it feel homey. There were also some fun games available for the whole family to play, and we enjoyed a great movie collection.The patio was lovely as well. Bear Valley Mountain Ski was only 30 minutes away, which was perfect for some winter fun. We found a Chinese restaurant close to the house, and the food was delicious.The only issue we encountered was with the refrigerator; it was freezing the food, and we unfortunately had to throw away some food. They should definitely look into fixing that.Overall, everything else was great, and we will definitely return in the summer!I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice getaway.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin was comfortable and clean. Needs some updating but we had a lovely time. The only drawback is the rails on the deck are dangerous and spacing is not current code or even code from ten years ago! Very dangerous for a small child. We were uncomfortable even using the deck and had to gate off the loft. Would not recommend this cabin to anyone with a small child or small dog for that matter.

Nice place in the woods

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Kickapoo is a lovely, basic house in a pretty, quiet neighborhood just east of Arnold. The house in fairly private, surrounded by trees, in the Dorrington subdivision. The beds were comfortable, as was the furniture in the living room. The house was clean. We were there on a very hot weekend, and there was no air conditioning. But, the trees kept the property shaded, and it was quite pleasant sitting on the deck. The house got a bit hot during the day, but cooled off at night with the fans.The kitchen could use a few more basic items, like spices, bowls, etc. But, overall, had most things you'd need.We had a lot of fun in the area. The people we encountered were all very friendly, and helpful. The highlights were Lake Alpine, White Pine Lake, and Hinterhaus Distillery.

I would not be able to recommend working with this owner, Pam.This owner began sending me messages asking me to pay via PayPal or Venmo a week before my final payment was due. I read that scammers do this so I tried to pay my final payment two days before the due date through VRBO and found that this owner had locked my account through VRBO with a message stating that I had not paid my down payment & must pay it (again) before I could pay the final payment. I called VRBO & could not get this owner to correct the VRBO account so I cancelled the reservation within the 100%-refund window via phone call with VRBO since the owner would not open my account to pay through VRBO and I didn't want to lose my down payment. There was a computer glitch between her & VRBO and rather than refunding my down payment she charged me the remaining balance and refused to refund my money even though VRBO sent her an email the next day telling her I cancelled timely & she needed to refund my money. It resulted in a huge waste of my time as I had to call VRBO & my bank over 15 times - each time spending at least an hour on the phone. While VRBO did finally give me my refund two months later I could not recommend working with someone who knows they owe you a refund and doesn't do the right thing on a technical glitch. I booked a different condo with a different owner through VRBO had a wonderful trip. Definitely couldn't recommend this owner.

Really bad experience

I’m so surprised by all the positive reviews because this rental made our trip sort of a drag. The kitchen has almost NOTHING you’d need to actually cook. We spent an hour driving around to find a baking dish, only to realize there was no cheese grater, the oven took twice as long, there are no bowls you can microwave in, VERY dull knives and zero Tupperware, tinfoil or anything to store food in. Outdoor cushions covered the whole floor so there was no room to walk from the kitchen to the living room. It was so dark that even in daytime with all lights on, we had trouble finding things in our bag, let alone could we read at night. We tried to do puzzles only to find tons of pieces missing. Chess and checkers also had missing pieces. The railings are not safe for kids and not to code. The entryway has a roof slope that means you get dripping snow on you every time you go in and out. The carpet in the primary bedroom smells bad and the light aqua towel I used has spots. The bench under the stairs is FILTHY inside. There’s only one wine glass. We were super bummed and left early because of the darkness and lack of ability to cook. The entryway dripping was miserable for kids and needs to be fixed, it need more lights and proper kitchen items if you are going to advertise this as having a kitchen.
