This home is spacious and in a great location (very close to West Asheville and downtown). However, we found the home did not feel like a place where people would live. I saw a different review about a lack of lamps, so I sent the host a message prior to booking. I was assured the owner would be purchasing more lamps prior to our stay. When we arrived, we realized there were no lamps in any of the living spaces, and there were only two lamps in the entire house (two of the bedrooms had a lamp, the third did not). The host was quick to respond and offered to bring a lamp over the next evening. We ended up purchasing a few cheap lamps in town. Even with two table lamps the kitchen/living room space was either very dark or abrasively bright (the overhead lighting was awful). We were looking forward to evenings playing games at the table and couldn't enjoy the space because of how dysfunctional the lighting was. Additionally, the third bedroom has no furniture besides the two beds. No lamp, no nightstand, no dresser. It might make a great room for kids, but as an adult, it was strange. It is not misrepresented on the listing photos, but I didn't notice how weird it was until I was sleeping in the room and didn't have a bedside table to put my phone on. We loved the location in terms of proximity to places we wanted to go (there was some noise from the maintenance of the golf course a few of the mornings we were there), but we would not stay at this property again.
