Dirty Dancing Festival

My friend and I have been excited about this weekend for months so when Festival day came and it was pouring down rain, we sucked it up and went anyway. It was very cold, wet and muddy. We had a couple of issues with the cabin but the owner quickly responded. We had a great time and the cabin was extremely comfortable. I hope to bring my family back here over the summer. Great location. A little disappointed that we didn't see a bear.

We were there less than an hour.

Upon pulling onto the property, I was not happy with what I saw. Trash in bushes by the main house. Debris at tree line. Just overall, not a good welcoming feeling. We went up the staircase to little wolf hoping it would be better inside. Before even making it inside, there were someone's dirty shoes at the doormat where we enter the property. We pushed those aside and entered where we were smacked in the face by a huge spider web. We're in the woods, so fine, however, it was big enough were I don't think a cleaning crew was there recently or that wouldn't have been there. The decor was nice enough, but as we started to get settled, we found that both the main entrance door and the one in the bedroom both had seals that were broken. You could see clear outside through both openings. Strange, but ok. My child wanted to watch her dad unload the car so we pull back curtains to look and the window was filthy and there was dust and dirt all over the window seal. Moving on, as we sat down at table to have a snack after being in the car for 3 hours, there were crumbs on all 3 of the seats i pulled out. Also on the table. In the master bedroom. inside the closet was a dirty sheet just tossed in there in a pile. The overall feel of the place was just dirty and unkempt. At that point it was 5pm and we had to make a quick decision on what to do to not miss kids bedtimes. So we left. I notified the owner that we were on the way home and told her my concerns. She stated she could have the cleaning crew come out, etc and I stated I wasn't happy with the property and would like a refund. We didn't want to stay there. There was a lot of back and forth and basically we paid for a place we were at an hour. They don't want to refund the money and want pictures for proof of what I stated. I told them they could go to the property and see all the things I stated, but all they kept referring to was pictures. The right thing to do if someone is unhappy with the place you provided is to give them a refund. Why would I want to turn around and go home and not have a vacation?!!! That makes no sense and their refusal to do the right thing says all I need to know. Thanks for nothing.

Great Stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Lil Wolf. We loved the boho decor and roomy feel to the place. Host was super prompt in response to messages! We will definitely book again in the future!

Great location and accommodations

We were there for our first mother/daughter weekend. The place was very clean and had the perfect amount of space for the four of us. We were close to the Rumbling Bald resort, which was fantastic that the passes were included. We went to the restaurants nearby and kayaked as well. It was beautiful and relaxing. We would definitely go back and stay here! We hope to get a pear or fig next time!

Perfection!

Renting the property from start to finish was easy! We had the best in Lake Lure and staying at Little Wolf. The home was spacious, clean, and convenient to everything we wanted to do! The host also has ideas for places to eat and do if you are unfamiliar with the area. They truly have thought of everything! We can not wait to go back and stay again! Very peaceful and quiet for a great getaway!

The Perfect Vacation

It is hard to summarize the time we had in Lake Lure. From the moment we received the digital information packet I knew this would be a great trip. I wasn't wrong. The house was just perfect for us. It was clean, modern, and had everything we needed. Even the silverware divider was clean (that is a rental pet peeve of mine)! The beds were comfortable and having laundry was a huge plus. Having access to Rumbling Bald was hands down our favorite amenity. We spent almost every day there enjoying the private beach and pool. Krysta was a great communicative hostess and was very helpful and accommodating. I really could go on and on. If you are thinking of booking, just do it. I promise you will love your time at Little Wolf.

Beautiful Impromptu Stay

Our stay was amazing, we wanted for nothing with amenities. The place was clean, stylish (even the little fishies in the bathroom), and convenient location. The views were beautiful. We will be staying here again in the future.

Family getaway

We loved our stay in Lake Lure!! It was so peaceful and had a beautiful view! Our son loved the basketball goal. The condo was very clean and had everything you needed. This was the perfect getaway for some much needed family time and rest. We’ll definitely be back!

Great place. Great stay.

My wife and I needed a simple getaway and little wolf lodge was perfect. Spacious, two bedroom with king size bed, big kitchen, family room and washer/dryer. It wasn’t just a place to sleep like most hotels. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Way OVERPRICED and disappointing

After reading some of the reviews about this property I was very excited about staying here. My family and I did not arrive to the property until after dark and the light bulbs in the living room were burnt out so we had to fumble around in the dark until finding a light switch. I looked for a light bulb to put in the light but there were none because it took a special kind of light bulb. So, I thought no problem I will go get a lamp out of a bedroom. Well the lamp I grabbed to put in the living room was broken thankfully there was another lamp but that light bulb was also burnt out. I went looking for another light bulb and did successfully find one for the lamp. Secondly, I was unaware that pets were allowed to stay at the property and my little boy is allergic to cats and dogs and he had an allergic reaction. The smaller bedroom smelled like there was a litter box that had been kept in there. I used the washing machine and the washing machine made the load of laundry smell musty and gross from either being not used and shut up for awhile or not cleaned. It was nasty! With two toddlers it really was a hassle to not have a properly working washing machine because I did not use the washing machine again. I hand washed some of my children’s clothes and was going to use the dryer but the dryer was not working either. It would shut off every two or three minutes. So needless to say we didn’t have a working washing machine or a dryer which was a bummer especially when traveling with children. The floors were sticky the coffee maker did not work properly and we bought steaks to use the grill and there was no propane tank for the grill. Again we were disappointed! The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn’t work so I had to hand dry the mirror to get ready for a wedding . None of the hand soaps were refilled. These are all things you do not want to deal with on vacation.

The property owners were great. Very cute house. Some housekeeping issues. Emailed the owner. My disappointment is the town of Lake Lure. Most businesses and restaurants were closed. Very run down. I have great memories from years past there. It's a shame our world is in such a mess. Thank you.

Little Wolf

Little Wolf was very clean. Had a slight problem checking in because the house number is on Big Wolf. However, the Manager and homeowner were very quick to respond and set everything straight. Would stay again at either Big/Little Wolf. We had a great time!

Amazing vacation!

We had a great stay at the Little Wolf Lodge. The place was spotless and had everything we needed upon arrival. The owners were actually staying next door during our trip and they were so sweet to meet. Will definitely be recommending this place to anyone traveling to lake lure!

Just what we needed!

This was the perfect place for our small family- cute, clean and had all amenities we were seeking. Very close to Rumbling Bald and we enjoyed all of the facilities there, as well as local attractions. Inclement weather lead to a utilities outage and the host went out of her way to make things right for us. We hope to come visit again. Recommend!

Great location!

This property is clean with cozy! The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked with your every need for cooking. The washer/dryer were very useful as well. The location is perfect as you are very close to the Rumbling Bald resort... pool, beach, wellness center, golf, running trails, etc! Lake Lure is incredible. We highly recommend hiking Chimney Rock!
