  • Welcome to C & G's Rocky Broad River Cabin - the longest 'family owned' rental property in Bat Cave. One step onto our back porch and you'll be "hooked"!!! Remodeled in 2010, the porch boasts over 300 sq. ft. of screened-in space which is a great extension of the living area of the cabin. Here, you can rest, relax, read, or even take a nap while listening to the river in complete "bug-free" comfort. Better yet, start your morning with breakfast on the porch; lunch and dinner work equally as well. There is seating for 6 at the table but with all this space, more can be included.

    Originally purchased by my grandfather in 1947, we have owned the house since 1987 and now it will be passed down to our grandchildren, Carson and Gabby Kincaid. Since starting this ad, Carson is now 12 years old and Gabby is 7. Both enjoy playing in the river and exploring!!

    We have completely remodeled the upstairs (downstairs not yet available) and have updated all utilities and living spaces. Practically everything is new - granite counter tops, cabinets, bathroom, wiring, and plumbing.

Beautiful waterside property

We had a wonderful time. Rained most of our stay but the screened in covered deck saved our stay. Would love to stay again with better weather.

Magical Relaxation

We really enjoy this place! It was super clean, had everything we needed and is located close to activities, shopping and restaurants. The sound of the river in the back of the property was magical! We will definitely be back, Mira & Peter Davidson

Perfect getaway to relax and unwind

Best Spot in Bat Cave

We've stayed all over the Bat Cave/Chimney Rock/Lake Lure area for years. This may have been the best place we've stayed (for a small group). Right on the river, beautiful trees, great location, and FANTASTIC back porch! House is 100% updated, comfy beds, great kitchen etc... Nothing to knock here! Great place!

Terrific View!

This cabin was perfect for a getaway. It's a few minutes from hiking and food at Chimney Rock, and about 30 minutes from Asheville and Hendersonville. The back patio is wonderful with the Broad River running behind the property. Both bedrooms have glass doors looking out towards the river. And the remote-controlled fireplace was perfect at the end of the day. Thanks!!

Wonderful

Really nice, quaint house with a warm gas fireplace. Wonderful sound from river in the back with fire pit. Only complaint is too soft a mattress in bedroom next to kitchen and cable tv in living room a problem intermittently. Hosts were quite helpful though

Awesome property!!

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay at Carson's Cabin. The cabin is beautifully decorated and so comfortable; beds are luxurious, kitchen is well stocked, and the back screened porch is the place to be! There's nothing like sitting there watching and listening to the roaring river; it transports you to a place of true relaxation and calmness. There are so many places in the home and on the property to go to relax, from the living room sofa and loveseat, to the front porch bench & rocking chair, to the deck chairs and loungers...to the lovely backyard with seating around the firepit. Even though we are older, and somewhat out of shape, we ventured into the gorgeous river to sit on a boulder and get our feet/ankles wet on a number of occasions. The location is also stellar...so close to everything to you could want to go to; please visit the Old Cider Mill next door; the gift shop is really cool with lots of eclectic and interesting merch we've not seen in other stores. The owners of Carson's Cabin, Brenda and Randy, are so welcoming and accommodating and made the whole check in/out experience seamless and stress-free. As for things to do in the area, I recommend taking the Lake Lure boat tour if you haven't already, and take a drive down 64 to Hendersonville, and take any other winding, scenic, back road on the way back to your lovely cabin. That was a highlight of our vacation. We highly recommend Carson's Cabin as a truly delightful place to stay in every way.

Wonderful leaf peeping!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. My friend nick named it Cozy Toes Cabin. It was just the perfect place to stay and see the beauty of the fall leaves. The porch is fabulous with a lovely flowing river behind the house. It was wonderful to hear the river as we had our morning coffee. Woould definitely stay again!

Fall Getaway

Our stay was wonderful at Carson’s Cabin! The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. We all enjoyed our time here. Everything was as pictured and delightful. The river behind the cabin was nice to listen to!

My husband and I had a lovely time staying in this older cabin. This is a house on the banks of the Rocky Broad River; the upstairs of the house has been renovated for rental. The vibe here is "laid back nice" with a roomy kitchen that's well equipped. We spent most of our time in the recliners on the large porch at the back, reading and listening to the river. The cathedral ceiling on the porch and fans helped us be comfortable for all but the hottest parts of the days during this summer visit during a heat wave with high humidity (heat index 104 degrees). We appreciated the varnished wood floors and variety of lighting. The custom cabinetry which makes maximal use of space in the bathroom & closet added to its appeal. Everything was very clean. Parking space for 2 cars max is in front of the cabin, just off the road. The hosts are very helpful and responsive; they provided an accurate idea of what we we're going to find. The cabin is small but well laid-out; my 5-star rating is applicable to this size cabin, not on a scale with huge new elaborate rentals. We like to live simply, so it was perfect for us.

The Sound of a Mountain Stream

This is a wonderful place to stay! If you like to sit on a screened porch and listen to the beautiful sound of the mountain stream, then look no further! The hosts called to check and make sure we found everything as we should have! The house was immaculate and we had everything we needed. Can't wait to return and thank you Brenda & Randy for sharing your mountain get-away! We loved it!

Awesome place to Relax and Enjoy

We really enjoyed our stay here. The accommodations are fantastic, the beds are comfortable, and the view (and sound of) the river flowing in the back is incredibly relaxing. The stay was great. It felt like home. Anything you need is available. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone. It exceeded our expectations.

Another wonderful trip to Bat Cave

Property was clean upon arrival and was exactly what we expected. Screened in porch was a nice treat and the sound of the River from the porch is very relaxing. House had everything we needed and communication with owners was friendly and easy. Would definitely recommend to others and/or rent again for another trip.

Vacation experience

We loved our vacation and cabin where we stayed. It was the perfect place to celebrate Christmas with your family. We loved the back porch and the creek running behind our yard. It was so peaceful to sit and hear the water splashing against the rocks!

Wonderful getaway!

My family and I had the most pleasant stay at this cabin in Bat Cave. It was our first time to this area, and we went on lots of hikes and loved being in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cabin was beautiful, clean and had everything you would need for a relaxing vacation. We especially enjoyed the fireplace in the living room as well as the screened-in porch with the view of the river. We made a fire in the firepit by the river and roasted marshmallows, which was a big hit with our child. Randy was very responsive and caring and answered any questions we had promptly. We had a wonderful experience. Thank you, Randy and family!

Fantastic Stay

Cozy cabin by the river has it all! Great style, amenities, comfortable beds, gas log fireplace, and plenty to do close by. Loved drinking coffee on the screened porch with the leaves glowing overhead and the river rushing below. A truly restful and soul-restoring stay.

Bat Cave 2021

Carson's Cabin was a great place. Loved the big kitchen. Porch and river were beautiful. The only thing missing was a lighter to start the fire.
