next to St. Francis Basilica

My reservation was cancelled because of hotel renovations and according to some reviews they where needed so hopefully it will get a good update. Old building like everything in Assisi but beautiful. You can not avoid seeing the hotel when you go to St. Francis Basilica it's that close.

vista magnifica dalla camera e posizione ottima in Assisi, direttamente sul sagrato della basilica e comoda per lo shopping e il tour di Assisi. Vista magnifica anche dal ristorante e incantevole terrazza per i pranzi/cene. Colazione lascia a desiderare...

Beautiful, hilly Assisi

Very tough hills for anyone with any mobility issues; however, perfect location to see the fabulous Duomo. No longer a restaurant in the hotel so nearest (albeit eccellent) place for dinner was agsin way uphill. A terrific bellman cheerfully brought all of our luggage down the hills to our car in the garage below. Great service!!!

꿈에 보일까 두렵네요.

난방도 점퍼를 입고 자야할 정도로 부실할뿐만 아니라 그것마저 새벽 4시쯤 되니 가동중단 시킨후 아침 7시30분경 재가동. 조식 또한 다른 호텔에서는 두 세가지는 있는 더운 음식이 없고케이크도 그전날것인지 약1/3정도 남은 ...., 손이 안갈정도의 비주얼.... 생각하면 할수록 불쾌하며, 불만족스럽고 투숙객들의 신심에 기대어 자비와 배려, 용서를 역이용하여 장사한다는 생각을 .... 심지어 객실에 커피포트조차 구비되지 않은 .... 호텔에서 불러준 택시의 기사는 10여 유로 거리의 역에 도착해서 20유로 달라고 하는걸 15유로로 ...

Ideal location for St Francis Basilica

Great location just inside the City walls and close walk from the main parking structure outside the walls. Easy to get to the main town square, restaurants, etc.

A wonderful hotel in an incomparable location!

We really loved our stay at the Subasio. I stayed there in 1987 on a previous trip, so it was wonderful to be able to stay there again in the new and renovated version, the upgrades being a great improvement. The room, in spite of the typically uncomfortable Italian beds, was otherwise more than we could have hoped for, mainly because of the extraordinary terrace with views of the entire valley and the Basilica next door. It was utterly magical. The breakfast was ample and superb, and the dinner in the restaurant was good, even though the wait staff was rather confused about things. Overall, it was one of the highlights of our three weeks in Italy, and I hope to stay there again!

High class hotel at a reasonable price!

The hotel is in a very good location. Easy public parking and so close to the Basilica of Saint Francis. Only there for one night, and the staff was so very nice and accommodating. We had an early departure for Florence in the morning. Because our departure time was before the breakfast hours, the hotel clerk arranged for breakfast to be delivered to our room. The server who brought it was so sweet and genuinely was pleased to serve us. I will never forget his smile. The hotel is lovely with a beautiful dining room and a large terrace that overlooks the valley below the walled city of Assisi. The hotel was perfect for our stay.

serh guter Service - Einrichtungen etwas veraltet

Wir wurden sehr zuvorkommend begrüsst und willkommen geheissen. Man half uns das Gepäck vom Parkhaus herauftragen. Auch sonst erhielten wir manch nützlichen Tipp für unsern Aufenthalt. Schade, dass die Klimaanlage in einem Zimmer nicht funktionierte.

Hotel has deteriorated

Having used this hotel several times in the past, we were shocked by the all round deterioration in the standard of the hotel. Poor service, poor cleanliness,dreadful breakfast. Not a good experience.

四つ星ホテル?

3泊しました。一泊目ペルージャまで行きホテルに帰りついたのはp.m7:00ごろ、疲れながらもレストランを少し楽しみにしていたのです。入ったら大勢の団体客が入っていました。ボーイがどの団体か聞いてきたので、団体客ではないことを伝えると、支配人が料理の皿を両手に持ちながら「full ! full ! fullI !」　と大きな声で言いながら厨房から出てきて、この下に2:件レストランがあるといいます。こちらがとまどいながらもわかったようなそぶりを見せると厨房にもどりながら、私たちには背中を向けながらカタコトの日本語でこちらを見もせず「アリガト　ゴォザぁ～イ　マシタ」ここは四つ星ホテルかしら?それ以前の問題だと思いました。チェィクインの際もフロントは階段手前まで案内しこの下の階だからと言って指図し鍵をわたされフロントに戻っていきました。エレベーターはなく重い荷物を地下一階まで自分たちで持っていきました。お部屋はオールト゛タイプ私は好きでしたが、眺めは右側が建物で見えず少し残念でした。宿泊代はリーズナブルだったので覚悟していましたがこのホテルの前にアッシジの別な四つ星ホテルに4泊していたので、あまりのサービスの違いにおどろいたのと、この歴史のある古いホテルがもったいないような・・・とても残念に思いました。50才代の夫婦には別な意味でいい経験となりましたが、ホテルでいきとどいたサービスを受けたいと考えている方にはおすすめはできません。

Posizione strategica, vista magnifica, il parcheggio nonostante l'hotel ti fornisca un pass, a loro dire convenzionato, è a pagamento; colazione discreta, buona pulizia. L'hotel dovrebbe essere ristrutturato in toto. Le quattro stelle non corrispondono allo standard dell'Hotel, dovrebbe essere ridimensionato a due, massimo 3.

1. Satisfaction 1) Very convenient to access to Basilica di San Francesco and parking place / bus terminal. 2) wonderful sight view 3) Quiet 2. Unsatisfaction 1) Leakage of water from "chauffage" (room n° 504) beside of bath tub. 2) Light is out of order (beside of bed) 3) Level of breakfast is poor compared with other 4 starts hotels. 4) No internet access 5) No key at the toilet 3. Additional comment Even if there are several incovenient (unsatisfactional) points, I will reserve your hotel room again, so could you please modify (improve) such incovenient points ?

USE ONLY IN EMERGENCY

Above expresses a professional opinion as a former leading travel industry executive. If you enjoy living next to a sewer (work will continue until approx Jamuary 2011), and indifferent to completely uncaring management, and enjoy rooms with no furnishings, a chair as the only room furnishing - and that doesn't match the desk, and if you seek a return to the 1970s, this hotel is for you. No notices of any kind in the room. Figure how to use the 16inch flat tv on your own, only to learn that it has NO English speaking stations, such as SKY, BBC, CNN, FOX. If you have absolutely no choice except to stay there, insist on a room overlooking the valley below, which has gorgeous views and quiet. Rooms overlooking the main entry into the piazza of St. Francis Basicilica are very noisy and directly above the sewer construction, which is literally 5 feet from the front door, and characterized by the flowing raw sewage. The hotel lives off groups and knows it. The fairly new owners of this and other Italian hotels have concluded that it is not cecessary to look after the guests, only their own profit. Use with care if at all. Assisi is beautiful, spiritual and much worth a visit, but not the Hotel Subasio.

Excellent Value

Next to the St. Francis complex inside the walled city. Great walking city for the physically fit. It is a hilly city but wonderful. Hotel has an excellent staff with English language skills. Must take a taxi from train station. Get a quote first it should be no more than 15 Euro's. Breakfast was very good and consistent with 4 star hotels throughout Europe. We were here in October and away from the busy July and August period. Glad we stayed here.
