We have been staying at Sands Villas specifically in unit 121 every year for at least 6 years. This unit has really gone downhill. The place is still ok— it has space to comfortably house 5-6 people for a week at the beach and the complex is in a safe area with great amenities and has easy access to a fantastic beach. However- this unit needs some help. We have been pretty pleased with it over the years, though we were never blown away. But this year, we walked in to find a giant tear in the carpeting which was FILTHY, a burn in the granite counters (I mean- how hot did something have to be to burn the granite?), the kitchen cabinet doors were crooked, the door handle to the pocket door to one of the bedrooms was missing, leaving a big hole in the door (no privacy) and the furniture has to be the original furniture of the original owner many, many years ago. There are probably 30 years worth of dirty feet stains on the coffee table. In the kitchen, there was only one decent frying pan to cook with but 30 different baking pans. I guess a lot of people like to bake breads, cookies & cupcakes at the beach but not scrambled eggs and bacon. Who knew? I hope the owner reads this review because we were pretty disappointed by how junky this unit has become. It’s time to take a hard look at what you are offering your guests & think about what you would need and expect out of a place YOU would stay for a week. It’s time to replace the dirty, uncomfortable furniture & mattresses (and comforters), provide a truly fully stocked kitchen with things people actually need (like more than one frying pan & some measuring cups/spoons). I understand not wanting to spend a lot of money on stuff in a rental unit, but Walmart has some really nice, NEW, stuff that won’t break the bank. We will likely not stay in this unit again & find a unit that is cleaner and more comfortable. We LOVE Sands Villas, but we’ve lost our love for unit 121 and that’s really sad. Like I said, we’ve stayed in this unit for at least 6 years in a row so we know how decent this condo used to be compared to our experience this year. It’s time to make some changes. You’ve lost a loyal renter by showing us the lack of care you have for your guests’ experience.
