Authentic Native American Hogan Experience near Chaco Cultural Historical Park

  • Stay in an authentic Navajo Hogan with amazing stargazing and views for miles at 8000' elevation for a desert "glamping" experience of a lifetime! Fully updated home (new kitchen, washer/dryer, full bath) decorated with custom Navajo textiles and all modern conveniences backs up to Navajo Reservation and is situated on a Christian Mission campus. With a king size bed for two adults and a comfortable full sized futon for the kids, this home sleeps three adults or two adults and two children comfortably.

    Nearby attractions : white water rafting, Chaco Canyon, Four Corners National Monument, Mesa Verde National Park, Durango Mountain, Wolf Creek, Silverton Train ride, Cuba Mountain and many more.

    We are located approximately 33 miles from Chaco Culture Historical Park, 30 miles from Cuba, NM directly off of HWY 550.

    You can make your own Fry Bread while watching one of our local Navajo demonstrate the technique.

We stayed three nights while exploring Chaco and the Lybrook Badlands. We were very pleased with this quiet, clean, comfortable spot. A big bonus was spending beautiful sunrise and sunset time on the low mesa top behind the hogan. The air conditioner kept us cool, and the petite kitchen had everything we needed for simple meals. Communication with the hosts was easy and fast. I believe this is the closest place to stay for a non-camping visit to Chaco.

This was a unique experience, staying in a modern hogan. The place was clean and comfortable and exceedingly peaceful. Being on well water the water was a bit sulphorous, as is common in northern NM. But we loved it anyway!

Fantastic views of nearby Mesa. Close to Chaco Canyon. Hogan is clean, comfortable and homey.

Chaco Canyon

If you are going to see Chaco Canyon, this is the place to stay. You can't get any closer and the place is ideal. We would definitely stay there again. Had all the amenities including a washer drier and an incredibly comfortable, king size bed.

The hogan was so clean and pleasant. The hosts provided everything we needed for a great stay, including a washer and dryer. There is some nice hiking on the property.

We came to the area to see Chaco Canyon and felt the Hogan very much enhanced the experience. It was easy to find, safe, clean, and lovely. Great experience.
