    Location, location, location! TWIN DUNES IS BUILT ON KINNAKEET SHORES' BEST OCEANVIEW LOT EVER! TWIN DUNES is Kinnakeet Shores' closest oceanview home to the ocean and one of very few oceanview homes where the kids can get to the beach without crossing a subdivision road. Spectacular ocean and sound views, the quiet cul-de-sac location, combined with the owner's attention and care, have kept TWIN DUNES an ideal vacation destination. The 1st level has four spacious bedrooms, two baths and a separate laundry area complete with an iron and ironing board. The 2nd level has a warm window lined beautiful great room with tall wood beamed cathedral ceiling and a long spacious deck posed directly oceanfront, perfect for sunrises and catching some rays.The kitchen, breakfast bar and dining area are equipped to the nines. A half bath is located on this level. Come and discover TWIN DUNES...well, you might just find you need TWIN weeks.

    You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically.


    Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on weather.

We really enjoyed our stay at Twin Dunes! It had everything you could possibly need with easy access to the beach, grocery store, and restaurants. The sand spurs and cactuses are something to watch out for especially with pets.

Great place

This place is awesome. As close to beach front as possible, clean, nice beds, everything you need in the kitchen. Best spot I have stayed at in the Outer Banks.

Amazing location, and perfect beach house

This gave us everything we were looking for. Super close access to the beach, great views and comfy living area, big kitchen for cooking meals. Highly recommend, and a great price for what you are getting.

Location of this house is by far the best we have had. Incredible views. Looking at the ocean while in the hot tub is hard to beat. Great walking north or south and the beach is not packed at all. Great expo

Beautiful Beach Home, So Close To The Beach

This large beach home was not only beautiful from day one but it had any amenity we could have asked for. Very well stocked, clean home! Always such a blessing when we can take our two dogs with us to make our vacations even more memorable.

Nice Home

Twin Dunes provided us a nice vacation. The couches and beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The house was clean. The location is great with a beach access nearby. The luggage elevator was very nice to have for unpacking and packing. We have already booked another stay at this house!

Great beach house!

Twin Dunes is a lovely beach house! It had everything we needed and the owners have responded to concerns from previous reviews. The washing machine and sofa seem new. The sliding doors between the two main bedrooms that share a bathroom were a little tricky, but will close properly if done “just so”. The main rooms only have sheer curtains and could use some blinds for privacy. Otherwise we had no complaints and truly enjoyed our stay! We were two couples with two teens and it was a nice size for us. We also appreciated the easy beach access and the hot tub with a view. Thanks for the attention to detail!

Beach house with great amenities and close to beach!

Stayed in this house comfortably with my family, another family, and father-in-law and grandmother-in-law and dog . The house was clean with updated furniture and appliances. There was a great view of the ocean as well! The house was also in walking distance to food Lion which was really convenient. Would stay again!

Perfect twin dunes

House/kitchen is wonderfully stocked. We cooked in every night and the house had everything we needed! All the cookwear is non-stick so if you want to use stainless you will have to bring that. Bring dish towels to use (my mother in law had the brilliant idea of bringing Christmas ones so we always know which are ours). Beds are comfortable! The two queen rooms have east facing windows so if light is bothersome to anyone I recommend bringing black out curtains. Porches are wonderful to hear the waves and see the water. House is on a cul-de-sac so no neighbors directly on either side, feels very private! Love this house and can't wait to come back next year!

Excellent home!

From the amenities, to the location it could not be beat. We have stayed in the OBX many times and mostly with the former Hatteras Realty and now Vacasa. The home was just as described. It was perfect for our group and I think 2 couples with multiple children would find this a perfect fit. This home is dog friendly but you’d never know it is. There was no hint of animals in this property so if you are not bringing your dog, you’ll enjoy this home!

Tge home is absolutely beautiful but upon arrival, beds were not made, bathrooms uncleared, and dirty dishes in an opened dishwasher with cockroaches that did not slow down the entire trip. So sad because we have stayed there before and it has been clean.

Ohana at the beach

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Twin Dunes is a gem. There were plenty of kitchen items -even a crockpot! Lots of furniture throughout the house (couch could use an update and some dining chairs need repairs) but we were impressed with the cleanliness and overall how the home was furnished. The beds were comfortable. I am picky about my pillows and I found the pillows lacking but that was probably just me. There was plenty of space for our family of 7 (5 adults & 2 kiddos / 4 & 6) the view of the ocean is great from the deck and hot tub. The walk to the beach took maybe 4 minutes tops, the boardwalk path is literally across from the driveway. The dune you must navigate to get down to the beach is treacherous for anyone with mobility issues. This was my biggest complaint…not Vacasa or the homes fault.

Great Rental and Close to the Beach!

This was our 6th trip to OBX and we usually stay in Avon. We always share a house with my brother’s family. There are 4 adults and 4 kids ages 11-16. This house was the best we’ve had so far. It was very clean and literally had everything we needed to make this a perfect stay. The walkway to the beach was basically at the end of the driveway so it was only about a 3 minute walk to the beach. There was a nice view of the ocean from the living room as well as the hot tub. It was also great that they supplied beach chairs and a nice umbrella. Also loved the area with the volleyball net which provided some extra fun for the kids. I would absolutely recommend this rental! Thanks for making this another memorable OBX vacation!

Best equipped but poor privacy

This house was, by far, the best equipped house we have ever stayed in after decades of going to the Outer Banks! Coffee maker, plus Keurig coffee maker plus beach chairs, outdoor hose, foot spigot, enclosed hot shower, badminton style net, basketball backboard, basketball, soccer balls, TV, Internet, washer, dryer, dishwasher, quality can opener, etc. But… back doors don’t lock easily (or at all), only thin curtains on several windows most of which face other houses. The sliding door on a shared bathroom does not close all the way without extreme effort (if at all). The dumb waiter only goes to the first floor (and started making a lot of noise on our last day, but I assume that will be repaired). The Internet also stopped working, but I presume that is an electrical issue related to the storm and I assume will be repaired. If all the beds were occupied, the place would feel very cramped. Good view of the ocean, very close crossover to the water. Overall, excellent except for the privacy concerns.

First time staying in Avon

This house was in a great location! It had a nice long driveway which made the house sit back in a little further, so the property felt more private. The beach access was just steps away from the driveway! We were very grateful to find an affordable house that is pet friendly. The house was also very cute inside and you can tell there have been upgrades done to it. The kitchen was fully stocked and had anything you needed for cooking/cleaning. We loved the lift outside the front door to load most of our belongings to get upstairs. The kitchen/dining/living room area was big and had an open concept. The hot tub is on the top deck with an amazing beach view and we loved sitting on the deck at night. There is also a shopping plaza a minute drive away from the property, which was very convenient. Some cons: We were a little disappointed we didn’t get into the house any earlier than 5pm. And when we arrived to the house, the code I was given did not work and it took an hour to get a new code. Also, some of the jets did not work in the hot tub. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Avon and this property was very nice to enjoy for the week!

Great home in a perfect location

We stay often in VRBOs, and this was by far the best equipped house with everything you would need in a kitchen, comfortable beds, quality deck furniture. Our family of 6 had plenty of room, could have fit up to 4 more easy. The house is located in a wonderful neighborhood with very little traffic, its on a culdesac surrounded by trees...you are not oceanfront, not first row back...you are halfway in between with a small house in front of you so you can see the ocean really well. The place seems to have been updated, nice appliances and comfortable furniture. Beach access is literally just out of the driveway. The only "but" I would add is that this isn't a true "by owner" as its 100% managed by a property mgmt company. We like dealing one on one with owners thus why we use VRBO. This property mgmt company was not responsive at all. In fact we sent emails with reasonable questions to better prepare for our visit and they literally didn't even respond. Had another question on day 2 so I left voice messages with both maintenance and customer service...once again, no response. Super frustrating. With that said, we do hope to stay here again, but really would like to deal with the owners.
