We learned from overhearing local management that the remodeling work on this property was "finished" the very day we arrived. It quickly became clear that NO ONE had bothered to walk through the property to ensure it was safe and was in fact the place described on the listing. In fact, there was no king sized bed, no hot tub, no working fireplace. There was no working garbage disposal, even tho egg shells were crammed in it when we arrived. The garbage disposal had not even been connected. The "trouble shooting" from the Vacasa help line was "look underneath the sink to see if it's connected." How do I know? I'm not a plumber! Does Colorado not have laws about code violations that involve a professional reviewing such installations? There was a utility or alarm box of some kind that was beeping when we arrived, just outside our bedroom window. A local management person stopped by and "got it to stop." It started up again within minutes of her leaving and continued to beep all night every few seconds, right outside the head of our bed. What if it was an alarm actually trying to tell us something? I didn't sleep worrying that it could be indicating smoke or carbon monoxide or a natural gas leak or people sneaking around the property. And this bed - it was a double mattress centered on top of king sized box springs! That created a foot-wide ledge on both sides of the mattress that we had to climb over to get in. Some of the window shades in the bedrooms fell off when we tried to use them, while other shades could not be lowered at all. So bedrooms had no way to be private. The kitchen sink had a working faucet and a non-working faucet - what was that all about? The wifi info provided was incorrect. This was absolutely a property that should not have been rented out to us. We were the shake down crew, the guinea pigs, for this hastily done, unfinished property. We should be refunded for this disaster of a stay!
