    Colonel's Cottage is a charming and extremely spacious five-bedroom, 4.5-bath home set in Bald Heads lush Maritime Forest. Step onto the welcoming wraparound front porch and into this traditional floor-plan home. You are immediately delighted by the gleaming hardwood floors and elegantly-appointed open floor-plan layout. The living room area features comfortable seating with a decorative fireplace and myriads of windows. The adjacent dining area is anchored by a table that comfortably provides room for eight but can accommodate ten. Check out the shell chandelier-it is stunning! Beyond the dining area is the breakfast bar with seating for four. The adjacent gourmet kitchen features granite counters, stainless appliances and plenty of prep space that will accommodate multiple chefs. Just steps away is the screen porch which furnishes another gathering area and an additional dining option. Finally, beyond that is a serene patio with yet another table for alfresco feasts.

    The King Owner's suite, located on the main level, is perfect for folks who want privacy but wish to minimize steps. It features a King bed and a spa-like bath with shower, soaking tub and his and hers sinks. The main floor also offers a Queen suite with a full bath. Upstairs, there are three additional bedrooms. The second King suite features a private full bath. There is also a Queen bedroom and a bedroom with two Twin beds. These share another full bath outfitted with a Jacuzzi tub. In addition, there is an additional sitting space equipped with a flat screen TV. This is one more location perfect for cozy conversations, movie-watching or just unwinding. Plus, with WWP, you get access to 24/7 Property Manager Assistance Line-which means you can reach needed help even after hours or on weekends .If you are looking for a great Bald Head Island vacation spot, rank Colonel's Cottage high on your list!

Spacious and clean!

This house was a perfect fit for 2 families of 4 staying together, being very spacious and clean. We all loved the two living areas and the large kitchen! Many meals eaten outside on the back deck, watching deer walk by and the painted buntings come to the feeder! Always special memories formed in Bald Head, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

July 2023 Stay

This was our 11th year on baldhead island. This is definitely one of the top two houses. Everything was very well-maintained, organized, stocked, comfortable beds, lights labeled, etc. etc. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing I would consider is some extra drawers in the twin bedroom, since there’s nowhere to put your clothes. Other than that - perfect.

The house was great and suited our needs perfectly. Loved having the two golf carts. If there was a negative it was only that the bed in the beautiful master bedroom was too big for my husband to get into! This was one of the best houses we have stayed in. Exactly as advertised.

July 2019 Stay

We have had a wonderful week. Colonel's Cottage is beautiful. Nicest beach property I have ever rented. Extremely clean, well stocked kitchen. Quick access to the beach. Loved watching the birds in the back yard. Wendy Wilmot Properties a delight to work with. I felt well taken care of and the communication was wonderful. Love Bald Head Island, so beautiful. Enjoyed the spa, grocery store well stocked. My family has already decided we want to come back next year and we want to stay in the same house.

A Big Fun House

There were 8 of us and had plenty of room to gather for meals and play games or go off to relax on ones own. The beach, pools, market, restaurants were minuets away. The house was well stocked in the kitchen and had convenient beach chairs and other accessories Several of us biked daily. The area was very, very quiet, just lovely. We would say we were all very satisfied with this well kept house and the support of the management company.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was nicer than we expected from the pictures and was a good floor plan for our family. We enjoyed the porches and second living area. We would have liked to have had more towels in the unit and the brakes on one of the golf carts were not good at all. Overall it’s a nice rental in the forest with lovely porches and plenty of bikes for the whole family. The property is in need of a good power washing and some unsafe boards sticking up in the walkway outside, but we are mindful that it’s an island that has recently weathered a storm and repairs may be behind a little.

There was plenty of room with 5 bedrooms & we loved the porches. we were thrilled to watch the Painted Buntings from the rear porch,(our 1st sightings of these beautiful birds), as well as several deer in the rear yard. The grandkids loved it. The location was very convenient to the market, marina & restaurants & the Bald Head Club's new water park. Wendy Wilmot Properties were so helpful & quick to provide anything we needed.

Thanksgiving Retreat

We enjoyed watching the deer pass through from the screened porch. The kitchen contains everything you need for preparing family meals. The Maritime Market offers prepared Family Meals which we chose to take advantage of one night. Our grandkids enjoyed the books, puzzles and bikes provided. The adults appreciated the comfortable beds as the mattresses were better than others. We have rented through Wendy Wilmot several times. They have never failed to respond to any email within 24 hours or phone call within the hour. Treat yourself to a lovely retreat. Colonel's Cottage is simply delightful!

Lovely Experience!

Golf carts were in good condition. Everything worked well. The only criticism is the knives need to either be replaced or sharpened.
