Perfect place!

We had a wonderful time at the Downshift Villa 54. Amazing location! Great views of BHI Club, 18th Hole, croquet and a lovely lagoon full of wildlife. We watched large fish jumping, cranes, heron, deer and a host of others. Perfect family place. Home was very clean, well equipped and cute! Hosts were very responsive to our every question. Would definitely recommend!

Great Property Manager!

The place is fresh, clean and comfortable. I cannot say enough about how attentive the management company was. They responded rapidly to any concern we had. We asked for a table umbrella to have shade in the morning(sunrise if fun coming over the golf course), it and some beach chairs arrived lickety-split. We also had to ask for lamps. There wasn't one in the place. Reading in bed was kinda hard with an overhead. But within hours we had two-one for the living room and one for one of the bedrooms. This is a miss on the property owners, but it is obvious they are refurnishing...so that means things are new. The kitchen is limited if you plan on cooking, but we made it work. The bikes as described don't exist. Just two rusty ones, but we rode them everyday. The larger golf cart is a bit janky, with parts missing and remnants hanging off(Needs a little TLC), but again, we laughed a lot and joked about how we couldn't compare to the souped-up carts that people were zipping around in well over the speed limit. Our biggest issue was the "3rd" bedroom. There is no door to this room, so not private. It's a closed in balcony, but again, clean and comfortable. Better for kids. A plus are the outdoor spaces..upstairs, deck and back porch well appointed. Space to find solitude. And the outdoor shower was a major bonus! This villa is small, and you can talk to your neighbors from the porch...but you can also walk to the pool... Beaches are A+. Explore

Wonderful stay!

Fantastic stay at a great house and location. Beach is across the street from the Villas entrance. Great views of the golf course. The house was very clean and well equipped. The property mgr was very easy to get in touch with (I left a bath bag behind) and so very nice to work with. Don't look any further, stay here!

Perfect Winter Getaway

This was our second visit to Bald Head Island for New Year’s, and we couldn’t have asked for a better location on the island — convenient to the marina, Old Baldy, shopping and most importantly, the beach (only a 4 minute walk away)! The villa itself was nicely laid out, with multiple outdoor areas for lounging and catching early morning views of the lagoon and golf course, and sunset viewing too. (Plus the beach was only a short walk away for perfect sunset viewing.) The kitchen was nicely appointed (air frying oven) and our teenagers and their friends had a blast hanging out in the living room. Two golf carts, including a covered six-person cart perfect for the weather, was a nice touch — plus enough bikes for the group. There was an issue with the upstairs ceiling fan light, and the the property managers immediately responded and came by with a lamp, which was so very appreciated! Finally, although we did not take advantage, having BHI Club next door and option to purchase guest memberships is definitely a perk. Thank you for the perfect winter getaway!

A short walk to the beach

This property has great views of the beach and the golf course and is a very short walk to the beach. Loved the Wifi speakers in the house and the King size bed was super comfortable!

Well appointed house with a great location

This house had everything we needed for an easy week at BHI including 2 carts and excellent bikes. The location is convenient has wonderful views. The house has recently been fully updated and is nicely decorated, clean, and everything is in working order. The only thing it lacked was a pitcher, but we made due by serving ‘punch’ in a large mixing bowl instead :). Would recommend the house and Barbara Miller without reservation.

Absolutely loved the Villa

I can't recommend this Villa enough. It's obvious that it's been recently renovated and everything is in fantastic shape. It backs right up to the Bald Head Island Club's beautiful croquet court. It came stocked with bicycles that we used quite a bit to ride around the island on. Both the golf carts were in great shape, and having both a 6 seater and a 4 seater really did come in handy. It's literally right across the street from one of the many public beach access points... and you honestly can't beat the beaches on Bald Head. Above all of that though, the owners are truly awesome. They were were on top of everything that we could have needed along the way. You honestly can't go wrong staying here.

Restful and unique vacation

We loved our time on Bald Head. I was a little stressed about getting to the island and traversing the ferry, but it was very easy and the tram service was great. We loved the small town and quaint nature of the island. It was a great vacation and can’t wait to go again.
