“Great little getaway cabin. Some hiking trails in the area were still closed, but the hosts gave excellent alternatives. Loved being able to bring our dogs. We all had a great time and would definitely stay here again. The weather was cool and the hot tub was great! Thank you guys for having such a clean cabin and providing all the necessities to enjoy our stay.”

“Lovely home with lots of cozy touches! Our favorite room was the very large screened porch with a dining table, comfortable wicker chair arrangements and two anti-gravity lounge chairs. From here we listened to the sounds of the creek and enjoyed amazing firefly shows every night. (We visited in July.) It was magical! The grounds are beautifully landscaped. “This is an absolutely terrific property with a beautiful view of grandfather Mountain and surrounding hills. We happen to be there on a foggy day and even so the view was very pretty when the mist were rising up and we could see. It was also rainy and yet we were very comfortable. The hot tub was very handy and also very nice for that kind of weather. The climb up the hill was pretty steep so make sure you’re comfortable with that but well worth a visit. “We fully enjoyed our stay at Sitting Bear cottage. It was super clean and perfectly outfitted for us to enjoy the fall leaves with family. Wonderful location surrounded by nature and close proximity to wonderful trails, sights and food. Looking forward to many future stays at this and other Flying Squirrel Cottages!”

“Stay was peaceful. Front door could use blinds or curtains it was a little creepy at night. Hot tub had leaves and such it could have been cleaner. And firepit outside was not functional, out of propane or something and we didnt feel like dealing with it to ask about fixing it we just didnt spend as much time outdoors as we would have had it worked. Bed frame also moved a lot on the hardwoods very creaky. Needs a rug under it or more heavy frame. Overall good experience. ”
