Just 2.2 miles from Beech Mountain Ski Resort, you're a short drive from skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing in winter, and award-winning mountain bike trails, scenic lift rides, disc golf, and hiking in the warmer months.

Outdoor adventures are all around: Buckeye Lake Recreation Area is only 1.9 miles away and offers fishing, basketball and tennis courts, a playground, and a hiking trail that leads to a beautiful waterfall. The town of Banner Elk—about 20 minutes away—features attractions such as Banner Elk Winery & Vineyard, the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, Sugar Creek Gem Mining, and Sugar Mountain Ski Resort.

Inside, the cozy main-floor living area features comfortable seating, a gas log fireplace, a big-screen TV, and a selection of games. The adjacent kitchen and dining area create a bright open space with vaulted exposed-beam ceilings, wood countertops, a copper basin sink, a gas stove, and a second stacked-stone gas fireplace with a TV.

Step onto the main-level deck to enjoy a gas grill, outdoor seating, and a gas fire table for evening ambiance. The deck connects to a side patio with a wood-burning fire pit.

Sleeping accommodations include:

* Main Level: King bedroom with an ensuite bathroom
* Lower Level: King bedroom, an ante room with a twin bed, a full bathroom, and a lower-level deck overlooking the peaceful wooded surroundings
* Loft: Twin bed, a double-size pullout sofa, a full bathroom, and an arcade game

Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, paid TV programming with streaming options, a spacious laundry room, and electric heating in each room. One bedroom includes an A/C unit, though most guests find the cool mountain air at over 5,000 feet keeps the cabin comfortable. The gravel parking area accommodates up to three vehicles, and a few steps down lead to the covered main entrance. Winter travelers should be prepared for changing conditions by using 4WD vehicles and carrying tire chains. One dog weighing 50 pounds or less is welcome with your reservation for an additional fee. Exterior cameras are in place for added security.
