My family thoroughly enjoyed our Beech Mountain vacation at the Bee & Bae Hideaway. We formerly lived in the High Country, and this well-appointed vacation home had everything needed for a multi-day stay. The home's back deck extends treehouse-like into the hardwood forest, and Beech Mountain's trail network is a short, steep walk from the back door. It was a great home base for day trips to Boone, Parkway, Roan Highlands, Valle Crucis, etc. We also enjoyed proximity to Beech's hiking trails and other summertime amenities. Our stay in this great home was made even better by the owners' attention to details like: plenty of split & dried firewood for outdoor fire pit, clear & simple instructions for hot tub, easily accessible cleaning supplies, WiFi repeaters throughout the house, extra pet supplies, and a chalkboard in the kitchen with useful info about the house & neighborhood. We would definitely stay at this home again, especially during the summer when the mountain weather provides much-needed respite from the heat elsewhere in the South.
Note that like many homes in the High Country built on steeply sloping lots, this property is designed with 3 floors of living, which means lots of stair climbing. The upper two levels (plus the entry steps) are visible in the photo of the front exterior. This was not an issue for us, and we appreciated the great lighting, interesting views, and refreshing ventilation on each level. Just be aware that the home has lots of stairs and may not be appropriate for those who have concerns about parking, sleeping, and main living areas on different levels.
