“It's a lovely clean and bright studio in the heart of Bayreuth, a 15 minute walk from the train station and less than a minute from the colourful and lively Maximilianstraße. If you're prepared to self-cater (and the local supermarkets are excellent), then it's a bargain. What stops it from my giving 5 stars? Not much. The apartment can get very hot, although a fan is provided. A separate receptacle for recycling would be welcome, as would a dustpan and brush for daily cleaning and instructions...

“Please beware this is not a hotel but some sort of youth hostel. YOU have to make your own bed. There are no towels or soap in the toilet. No furniture either. No Wi-Fi in the room. Upon check-in you are requested to buy a membership card to be able to use the room that you have already paid. This wasn't mentioned ANYWHERE in the booking. The fire alarm went off for over an hour and nobody came to either check to see if the hotel was literally on fire or simply turn it off. Needless to say, IT...

“This is a wonderful little appartment in a fabulous location in Bayreuth. Check-in was painful simply because there had been a technological issue which meant that Expedia were not passing on my messages to the host; this meant that I thought the host was very rude and I was getting panicky before the check-in, and probably the host was thinking I was unresponsive. Anyhow, when I was able to connect with them the communication was excellent and extremely helpful. The apartment is small but...
