Negatives: The checkin information came the day of the stay and the check out information the day before; no welcome manual with how to use heat, whether there was AC, etc; microwave did not work and the door to the porch was broken; bedrooms were extremely small, barely enough room to walk around them; the layout of the place is awkward; no counter space to cook and no oven to cook in; the refrigerator was across the room; no containers for food prepared; no scissors; no beach blanket or chairs. There are two doors leading out to another entryway for the upstairs tenants. The doors have large windows (the ones you cannot see through) but the light coming in through the doors was bright, enough to light up the whole space, so that was annoying at night. If you are used to living an apartment you probably wouldn’t mind the noise from the upstairs neighbors. I found that the neighbors upstairs were loud, dog barking, baby crying and I could hear every footstep. Positives: The location was the saving grace. Without that, we would have left. You can walk to the coastal trail, numerous beaches and places to eat. The half moon Bay Area is adorable, very friendly, and laid back. They provided beach towels and linens. The host was great and responded immediately. A working microwave was provided the next day.
