The house is in a great location, with a lovely beach at the end of the road and a well-stocked shop a short walk. It was very quiet save a bit of distant noise from the Crab and Lobster at the rear. The kitchen is well-equipped and brand new oven and washing machine were excellent. A highlight of our visit was two trips to Captain Stan's, the excellent fishmonger in Bembridge, and the good cooking facilities meant we were able to enjoy our purchases in full.My main reasons for not awarding a higher review:- There is a step entry at both front and rear of the bungalow. This may have an impact for anyone booking a single-level property because they have mobility issues. The front step, which is big, would benefit from a hand rail.- There was no provision for anyone with mobility issues in the bathroom. There is an over-bath shower, and it is a big step in and out which could be a problem for some. An anti-slip mat would have been a useful addition.- The curtains are incredibly thin in all rooms, including bedrooms. This was not too much of a problem in late August, but would be earlier in the Summer.- Uneven paving at the front of the house in need of some serious attention.
