Disgusting Service

Booked 2 Rooms & when we arrived the Host said she wasn't letting out Rooms anymore so we were stuck at 7.30pm with nowhere to stay. Having trouble getting a Refund from you. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

Arrived at the property after having booked through Expedia due to having a previous booking cancelled on our way to Berwick due to a broken bed. We were greeted by a lady saying that there was no booking, on showing her our confirmation email she still claimed that we couldn’t have possibly booked as she only takes bookings Saturday to Saturday. After arguing with her for several minutes , she agreed to letting us have a room( the exact room in the photo I had booked) but said we couldn’t have breakfast. After showing us to our room she then asked how we would be paying. I showed her the confirmation email again proving that we had paid for the night through the website. Her response was we couldn’t have and insisted that we were to pay again. We ended up leaving with no room , no money and nowhere to stay at 9pm on a Friday night.

When i arrived the property was deserted. neighbours told me they were away. the postcode was nowhere near the property. i emailed the owner and got no response. i had to find alternative accomodation late at night

This is a lovely old farmhouse away from the noise of roads and town. Barbara (and Fergus the Labrador) is very welcoming. Large comfortable bedroom with sofa, good breakfast, nice lounge/TV room to relax in and splendid views. If anything needs attention I would say that some of the bathroom fittings (taps, etc) will need upgrading soon but nothing to distract from a great 5 night stay.

Lovely B&B

Had a lovely stay at The Old Farmhouse. The people were really lovely and accommodating to us helping us out with having an early check in, quickly showing us to our room because we had to rush off to a wedding. Lovely full English breakfast, catering to vegetarians too with a view of the beautiful countryside. Would definitely come back again soon

Lovely and peaceful b&b

Friendly welcome, helpful hosts, lovely rooms and lounge area. Stayed one night to break journey down from Scotland and it was peaceful with tremendous views. Breakfast was delicious. Would recommend.

Absolute gem of a place

Fantastic place to stay, owners were lovely, couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Quiet location, comfy bed, great breakfast, huge bathroom, wonderful views from the bedroom window during the day, and the amount of stars to be seen at night was amazing and also a lovely dog to welcome you back in each day. Really enjoyed my stay here, thank you.

The personal service - preparing me a take-away breakfast on the last day as I was leaving early One bathroom was shared by three guest rooms which was challenging at times

Almost there

Lovely quiet location, although I had to wait for about 30 minutes to be let in. Confused about what I could/couldn't use from the fridge which was in the public area. Alcohol was also in this unlocked fridge which would have been accessible to children. There were also out of date food items in the fridge. Storing teas and coffees in an old, dusty, take away container doesn't look very nice. The old loo rolls on the window sill from one day to the next, likewise! The breakfasts were good.

The location is great and the place has that charm of a B n B you have seen in the movies. We felt very welcomed and were given great travel tips as well. Would highly recommend .

Farm House Stay

The room was comfortable and clean, but a bit cramped in size.The curtains were very light with no blind or otherwise to obscure the light. The view was very limited. There appeared to be rooms with better views which I assume were not available. Overall the hosts were very nice and helpful. Other breakfast options could have been indicated

1 night stay to visit local attractions Very friendly reception and service. Room spacious and comfortable And excellent breakfast A few points to note however which are not intended as criticisms 1. Sat nav postcode location May not be accurate Search instead for address 2. Proprieter (at our time of visit) does not accept card payments - so prepare for cash or bank transfer payments. 3. In room amenities include coffee satchets with powdered milk - so if you want it black ask on arrival or bring your own.

Although we stayed the five nights booked, we would not recommend this property for a holiday to anyone. It was in a pleasant enough location but in places it was dusty, towels were sometimes provided but washed out and the proprietor operated in an unbusiness-like manner. No card or cheque facility for payment but was asked to do a bank transfer to an account that could not be properly verified by our bank. At £90 a night we would have hoped for the excellent standard we experienced at other guest houses visited during our holiday which were all at a slightly lower rate.

A beautiful location, in a character filled “Old Farmhouse”. The Hostess, Barbara is a warm & friendly person, providing a wonderful welcome. Full English breakfast was both tasty & plentiful. Ideal base for Lindisfarne, Holy Island & Berwick upon Tweed.

Comfortable and friendly farmhouse

Lovely farmhouse on a working farm. Barbara was very friendly and welcoming as was her morning helper too, sorry cannot remember her name. Fergus the resident Labrador was a very friendly and welcoming addition, eager for a cuddle or 3. Rooms were nice, the gold room was very spacious. Beds comfy too. The tea and coffee facilities in the bedrooms needed to be more Covid friendly. The full English breakfast was really tasty, fresh fruits and with freshly made bread, this added an extra nice touch. I thought it needed a good dusting, but maybe being a working farm, this was the reason. Definitely visit again as fairly close to Holy Island and Banburgh. This farmhouse is a good drive away to nearest pub/ restaurant, so transport is needed. Would definitely visit again.

Glorious view of The Cheviot hills in the distance. Beautifully tranquil location with a gentle morning wake up call from the cattle outside the window, waiting for their breakfast. Helpful hosts who made up a packed breakfast for our early departure.
