Great place for our family for a long weekend. So close to the beach, hiking trails, and an easy drive to Marquette. Loved every minute!

Vacation

We often camp in the UP, but having a place to go to get restful sleep after a day of exploring was so nice! This place was wonderful!!! Super clean with everything you could possibly need. Outstanding host! We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect all-around

Great valued home to stay at. Wendy is a great host and left our group S’mores supplies and snacks. Air-conditioned for great comfort and right in the heart of Big Bay!

big Bay Area

Great location for us in our stay. Enjoyed it 100%, Had friends close by and rode around the area. Got to enjoy wildlife and the beach. May have to go back.

We were so happy with our stay. There were so many small touches added to this extremely clean house. The sun porch was great for coffee in the morning as was the back porch on the warmer mornings. They had a big shower with very good water pressure with a lot of extra towels. The kitchen had everything you can ever need and they had sharp knives! They left a welcome basket of goodies with Trenary bakery cinnamon toast. Wifi worked great and they had a large TV which we didn't use. There was a fire pit in the yard with wood and kindling. The beds were comfy and the heat worked very well. They are located a block or 2 from a restaurant, ice cream shop, church, and park with playground. We were visiting family so we are definitely be staying here again.

Big Bay Getaway

Very clean and has a homey feel to it. Right in the heart of big bay. Walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. Great spot. We will be back for sure!

Beautiful house

We loved the charm of this house. It wa also stocked very well. We really appreciated all of the extra steps that were taken to make it convenient.

Charming!

We loved Big Bay! Friendly people who went out of their way to be great! We enjoyed many area attractions—mining and museums, Squaw Beach and a Fall Festival! Plus so much beauty everywhere. Thank you Wendy, and thank you Big Bay!

Perfect getaway

The location of the property was perfect. Walkable to Lake Superior and Lake Independence. The house was cozy and comfortable and had all the essentials we needed.... and more. Loved the special touches. Would love to go back in the fall!

Property was beautiful. Ppl around were just so friendly. The ice cream store right down the street was very good. Love the 4th of July parade that went right in front of the house.

Great For a Long Weekend

Spent a long weekend here with family. There were tons of indoor and outdoor toys for the kids and plenty of room for the dog to explore. There isn't wifi and the service isnt great, but there is satellite TV. There's a decent park just a block down the road that the kids loved, too!

Comfortable Home with All You Need

This home was exceptionally clean! Everything we needed for the week had been anticipated by the host. There were plenty of dishes in the kitchen, plenty of towels in the house and plenty of space for all seven of us who stayed here for almost a week. Thank you Wendy for quickly replying to all inquiries. You are indeed a Super Host !

Comfy Stay in Big Bay

Wendy is an amazing host! She was in communication with us before our stay and gave some great recommendations on hikes. She went above and beyond in preparing the space for our family—with treats and toys and entertainment that everyone enjoyed. The house is in an awesome location with a great backyard if you want to stay in, or several awesome spots within walking distance (Burns Beach is a 15 min walk and the Lumberjack Tavern is a 5 min walk). There are several great hikes within 15-20 min of the home that are good for all ages. We had a great time and can’t wait to visit again!

The house is good sized with 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, and comfortable living spaces including a screened porch, outside deck, and large yard for kids to play or to have a campfire. The property was clean and spacious, with comfortable accommodations, all within minutes from either a terrific Lake Superior beach or Lake Independence. And while Big Bay is a smaller community, it does offer a convenience store in case you need a last-minute grocery item or an ice cream shop for an end day treat. Walks and bike rides are very easy, and there are plenty of outdoor attractions along the 30-minute route from Big Bay to Marquette including Thomas Rock, Alder Falls, Little Presque Isle park, and Sugar Loaf Mountain. If you like a quiet, remote, pleasant place to stay within a half hour of city attractions, Big Bay is a very nice choice. Our host (Wendy) was super hospitable and we are very grateful for our wonderful family getaway to the U.P.!

Nice upper peninsula Michigan house

The house has been updated and has a very nice upstairs bathroom. Hosts have attention to detail; artsy decorations, games for kids and adults, reading material, wood swing, fire pit, etc. As pics show, decks in front and side of house as well as sun room for chilly mornings or inclement weather. Kitchen well supplied with cooking utensils. We felt very welcome. Lack of internet and poor cell service (our phones are mvno) made communication difficult but who goes to Big Bay Michigan for streaming movies? No dishwasher but plenty of cleaning and drying supplies. All bedrooms upstairs. We really enjoyed our august stay and would definitely stay here again.
