Our stay at Chalet Onyx by Destination Big Bear had a mix of positives and some concerns.The property was easy to access, making arrival smooth and convenient. The cabin itself felt cozy and well laid out for our group. The kitchen was stocked with the essentials, and the beds and bedrooms were comfortable, allowing us to relax. We also appreciated the barbecue grill, which we used, and it was great that extra propane tanks were available. The views were definitely a highlight.However, some advertised amenities were not fully available or usable. The dartboard in the game room was missing or had broken darts, and the room had a musty smell. We also found rodent droppings in that area, which was concerning.We didn’t use the spa due to cleanliness issues. After calling for service, the new water appeared brown, and even the technician noted it should have been clear. We also noticed brown-tinted water when flushing the toilet and washing dishes, possibly from sediment in the pipes.Overall, it was a decent stay with strong potential, but maintenance and cleanliness issues need improvement.
