Ski Access:
The cabin is located near the White Otter access in Powder Ridge. White Otter lift typically opens in mid-December, though it may open earlier depending on snow conditions, and usually closes in mid-April before the resort closes. The cabin is only ski-in/ski-out while White Otter lift is running. Please inquire for details.
Ski Out:
Put your skis on in the driveway and ski across the cul-de-sac between cabins 16 and 18 Oglala Road. Follow the trail alongside White Otter lift to load. A few flat sections will require poling or skating. After unloading, turn left, cross to the right of White Wing run, and follow the sign on skier's right for Big Sky Base Area. This is a sharp right turn, so keep up your speed. (Green access)
Ski In:
Option 1: Ski Lower Morningstar to the FIRST set of Powder Ridge signs and exit to skier's left. Continue beneath Challenger lift. At the first set of signs (Bozeman Trail/Cascade Lift/Rosebud Bridge/White Otter Bridge), stay left toward Rosebud Access/Bridge. At the second set (Cascade Lift/Little Thunder), stay left. At the third set (Rising Bull Access/Rosebud Bridge/Chief Gull Access), veer right. At the fourth set (Rosebud Bridge/Chief Gull Access/Buffalo Hide Access), go right toward Rosebud Access/Bridge. Cross the bridge and take the next unmarked right to exit the trail. The cabin is the third one down on your right.
Option 2: Ski Lower Morningstar to the SECOND set of Powder Ridge signs and head toward the White Otter skier bridge. Immediately after crossing the bridge, exit to your left and ski Manitou Loop Road to Oglala Road, then veer left to the cabin's garage. This route requires skiing on roads and depends on conditions. (Green access)
