“Hi we only had one night here sadly. I’m from Christchurch and was with Wellington family. We had never ventured here before and wow the view is unmatched. Our favourite moments were wandering the nearby track to the lighthouse at sunset and enjoying breakfast on the deck (which is right in the shore) as the sun streamed in. Owner was very helpful and was open to hearing our suggestions on some tweaks. Comfortable beds and couch with a well supplied kitchen.”

“This is a beautiful home which unfortunately is not being as well maintained as it should be. In spite of that we had a lovely time and enjoyed the peace and serenity. The grounds are lovely and the pool looked great. Just a shame the weather wasn’t better for us to enjoy. This would be an ideal place to host a family get together with plenty of room for the grandkids too. Definitely good value for money.”

“We stayed from Friday afternoon to Monday morning to celebrate my birthday. Beautiful spot and the house feels like a proper kiwi bach. Plenty of firewood although we hardly needed it as the place gets lots of sun. They rely on people leaving the place clean as it is a long way from anywhere and it was acceptable but not sparkling.The swimming is good nearby although there are warnings about the currents between the shore and the reef.Thank you.”

The set up was very good, bedrooms had space and were comfortable.The living area was spacious.Appliances were adequate.The deck area was good.The weather was excellent in general.Two suggestions:-Firstly would be a heat pump for the house which could obviously be used for a/c when needed.The second is while the beach is very close the way down is quite difficult for an older person. ”
