Wonderful nature escape! The Toccoa river is beautiful and we enjoyed the charming Blue Ridge passing twice a day as we waved to all the passengers. The property was as-described, could use a little dusting here or there but overall clean and comfortable. The steps leading to the river access point are steep and there are many of them, so take that into consideration. We would definitely book again.

Beautiful property with lots of amenities! Our family enjoyed the Toccoa river and being located right at the fish trap we were set for success. The game room was fun and so was the Blue Ridge Railway which came by every day we were there. Lots of nice decks and outside furniture areas to enjoy the outdoors. Also lots of steps, so especially the way back up may be hard for those with mobility issues. Wonderful place for fishing, nature and fun!

Amazing family getaway w/great fishing

Cabin was secluded yet 15 minutes to nearby towns for restaurants and shopping. It is extremely clean and clear on house rules. We spent alit of time fishing trout and floating on the river. We had no complaints nor issues at this beautiful home that comfortably housed 5 adults. Lots of stairs inside and out but we liked the exercise. Thank you for opening your home to us to enjoy a change of scenery.

Cozy cabin nestled way back in the woods. The outdoor deck is the highlight of this location with an amazing view of the Toccoa River. There were deer everywhere on the drive up to the cabin, and even saw plenty of them on the property. It is a bit of a hike to get down to the river and back up, so just be prepared to handle the long staircase down and back. It was fun to see the train go by twice a day as well. Ellen, the host was great about communication and making sure we had a great stay.Side note, fly fishing here in July is tough due to the warm temps but did manage to land a few fish. Gotta hit it early in the morning or right at dusk, but pay attention to the dam release schedule so you don't get caught out there in rushing water.

Best vacation ever!

This property did not disappoint! If you want seclusion, rest, and constant exposure to nature—-then this is your place. It’s so close to town that you have a ton of downtown experiences, as well. Go tubing and ride the train if you have time!The layout of the home is perfect to have teenagers with private bedrooms and bathrooms. The back porch and deck are like being in a secluded forest! We also played in the river, hammocked, and enjoyed the wildlife our entire stay. There is nothing that you will need for the kitchen. You won’t regret renting this property. We hope to come back soon! Thank you again for allowing us to enjoy your home.

A Much Needed Break!

Beautiful property and a much needed break for our busy family. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The shuffleboard was a hit with our kids. River was up and muddy so the fishing was poor but it was still beautiful down by the water’s edge. My goal was to drink coffee and read and that’s exactly what I did!

Fabulous Fishtrap Overlook

Our family enjoyed a fabulous week stay at Fishtrap Overlook cabin. The cabin is gorgeous and well appointed with everything you may need. Very clean and extremely comfortable. The beds are comfy and the decor is beautiful! We loved being by the cozy fireplace relaxing after a day exploring Blue Ridge, Helen and Ruby Falls. Our granddaughter also got a kick out of the train passing by. We had a fire in the fire pit one night, roasting marshmallows. The view from the stunning deck overlooking Toccoa River is amazing! Ellen and Dan are very sweet people to communicate with and go out of their way to make sure your stay is a happy and comfortable one. We would love to stay at Fish Trap Cabin again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, clean, beautiful, comfortable home away from home to stay! A 10/10 in our book!

Wonderful Christmas Trip

Our family had a great experience spending time in the Blue Ridge area and staying at the cabin. The cabin was very nice and the decks, river, fire pit, and hot tub added to the fun and relaxation. It was fun to see the Blue Ridge train pass right by the cabin all decorated for Christmas too.

Cabin was great… views amazing… location great… rooms and bathrooms clean and nice. Beds and pillows were not the most comfy but ok. Kitchen Utensils and plates were dirty and greasy, Overall we loved the stayed but I had to rewatch everything in kitchen before using.

Weekend oasis

Fantastic Cabin

This cabin is fantastic! We went for long weekend for long overdue girls trip! More than enough space! Well equipped with everything we needed! Comfy beds and super clean!! And the best part are the decks!! We spent so much time out there!! The sound of the river is so relaxing!!! Directions from owner make finding place easy!! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Everything overall was great! Wonderful communication with the owner. Bedding, comfort/decor were wonderful! Adorable cabin and river access was magical!! Would recommend patio furniture be cleaned of dust and cobwebs. Need to have body wash/shampoo..there was only hand soap in one bathroom. Also requiring guests to clean out fire pit ashes was unecpected.
