I'll start with the positives: Wendy was great to work with and the house is located on the New River and my husband was able to fish. The negatives: the map is way off. It has most things around 6 miles away. There is nothing in Boone that you can get to in 6 miles. We tracked all the places we went to in Boone and they all were at least 7 miles and most 8-10 miles away. On top of that, the long winding country road seems like you are going even further. Blink and you will miss the street this house is on. It's a gravel road with deep potholes, over grown with greenery, and kind of creepy. There are only 3 houses and one is deserted. I can see why they tell you to make sure you have the appropriate vehicle to get here during the winter. It was a task getting there in the summer with all the winding roads. We made sure we were back before dark because there was no way we felt safe driving on those roads at night. Now the house. The kitchen counter is disgusting! It has a ton of stains in it to the point we didn't put anything on it and it looked dirty which it probably wasn't but the stains gave it that appearance. Some of the furniture was very old and needed to be painted. I agree with one review about the deck. At top of all the cobwebs, the furniture could be replaced with something new. The upstairs queen bed was very uncomfortable. I woke up with a backache every morning. The hardwood floors need to be redone. Tons of scratches in it and worn. I don't quite understand the 5 star ratings. Overall, I do not recommend and would not go back.
