We stayed at the Boots Up Bungalow this past weekend and really enjoyed ourselves, especially since we had snow upon arrival and at times throughout our stay, with a big snow the morning we left.
The house is in a cute neighborhood, almost a rural setting, but only minutes from Boone (grocery stores, restaurants, downtown). Our teenage boys went to Sugar Mountain each day to snowboard-it's probably a 25 minute drive, which is not bad.
The house is very clean, with nice beds and bedding. Everyone had plenty of room to spread out and there is a tv in every room if each person wanted their own space to watch tv. The hot tub was on and ready when we arrived, which was really nice. The boys were able to play pool downstairs after a day of snowboarding.
I would recommend that the kitchen be stocked a little more. We wanted to fry eggs one morning and there was no metal spatula. Most of the kitchen cabinets and drawers are bare, so just some simple updating would be nice.....more cooking utensils, hot pads (there was one), dish towels (also just one) and glasses. More bath towels would be nice (no wash clothes on hand). Last thing, sorry.....during the winter, I would recommend leaving a snow shovel downstairs. It would have been nice to shovel pathways to our cars and off the stairs, because it was a bit precarious, particularly if you were carrying luggage or groceries.
All in all, it was a great place to stay and we would recommend it!
