First of all, the staff were excellent - very polite, helpful and knowledgeable.
The pool was lovely but needs more sun loungers.
The bar was nice but could do with offering some food / bar snacks.
The gardens were lovely to drink your coffee in the morning and a glass of wine on your return in the evening.
I did like staying here except for a few annoyances in the room as follows:
There was absolutely NOTHING on the TV whatsoever - no reception at all and I quite like to browse while my wife is getting ready to go out in the evening.
The fridge was broken and just froze any liquid left int it - Milk most importantly.
The bed creaked and croaked whenever you moved.
The electronic door lock didn't work properly and we got locked out twice - we had to be given a normal key to get in and out.
The location was pretty much perfect - Beach, Restaurants, Shops, Tuk Tuks, ATM's, Supermarkets were all in abundance and very close by.
I would recommend The Summer Palace and I really enjoyed my stay of 11 nights.
But if you are a picky person be prepared to adapt.
