  • Spacious beach cottage with open floor plan on Sargent Island, walk through the back yard and you are on the beach. The surf fishing is great. Fishing, shelling, bird watching, crabbing or just enjoy the surf. Come put your feet up on the beach front deck with your favorite beverage and watch the sunrise while enjoying an unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico and Sargent Beach. We want to provide you a vacation home of your dreams, where you can relax and enjoy your getaway.
    Discover unspoiled Sargent Island where the fishing is great, sunrises spectacular, and crowds are elsewhere.
    Island Beach Retreat offers 3 bedrooms 1queen/1double/1king (linens provided)also a sleeper sofa that can sleep 2.
    1 bath (bath towels/wash cloths for in house use only)
    Large living room overlooking the Gulf of Mexico
    Fully equipped kitchen
    There are 2 security cameras on the exterior of the property. These are never reviewed unless there is a problem there.
    Pet friendly. Signed rental agreement is due upon booking. $175.00 NON REFUNDABLE PET FEE PER PET. CANCELLATION POLICY IS 30 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. However if cancelled within 30 days and property can be re-rented rent will be refunded in full. If only a portion of the dates can be rented stay will be pro-rated and returned to guest.

Beach get away!

We loved Cheryl’s beach house and are definitely coming back!!! The sunsets are phenomenal and the weather was just right, this vacation was highly needed and helped us unwind and just tune in with the sea gods lol Loved every bit of her house!

Perfectly peaceful getaway

The location, privacy and quiet let you really soak in the waves and coastal breeze all of the daylight hours. Enjoyed the lush large lawn too!

Favorite spot on the Coast

Eighth year to stay at this house.....great views of the Gulf from the porch with a short walk across the yard to the beach .....my favorite part - no crowds!

Perfect View and Quiet Enjoyable Stay!

Check in was great and easy. Communication was quick and convenient. Location was one of the best places we’ve stayed on the coast. Beach was basically ours! Amenities and Accommodations were all met. I’d stay here again for sure.

Girls trip to the coast was a beautiful time at this home. We visited for three nights and enjoyed the peace and quiet away from the busy world. We spent our time walking the beach, sitting on the deck in the mornings and evenings, playing cards or watching tv in the house and taking naps. This home is a good drive to restaurants and big stores but the quiet isolation is worth it! The Dollar Store is about 10 minutes away and will likely fill and needs that come up. Bring your own food, use the well stocked kitchen and enjoy relaxing! Cheryl was very good to work with, fast communication and patient with any questions I had. Thank you, Cheryl!

Good Place to Relax

My wife and I spent a week, along with our dogs, enjoying the ocean views and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. We hadn't been to the Texas gulf coast before and this was a good place for that first experience. Being only a few hundred feet from the shoreline, we enjoyed sitting on the porch with its ocean views in the mornings and evenings and exploring during the day.

Weekend Getaway form working from home.

The pictures really don't show how spacious the house is and how close the house is to the water. Wish we could have stayed longer. Really enjoyed watching the sunrise and fishing right in front of the house. Our dogs liked laying on the porch people watching. We have already booked our next stay and can't wait to be back there.

Great place!

Loved the house and the location! Felt a bit misled by pics of the beach; lots of rocks with a bit of sand (still had a blast!!). Also other people staying should know there's an expectation that renters replace items such as soap if they run out, and that washing and drying towels is expected but laundry detergent is not provided. Overall enjoyed the stay and location!.

Birthday trip ‘23

We take our grandkids on annual birthday trips, this year they chose a house-on an island ✔️, on the beach ✔️, and feels like home✔️. And we did feel right at home! Got in lots of fishing, playing in the sand and vacation vibes 🏖️. Can’t wait to do it again!

Great location and comfortable lodging

Perfect location if you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation. House was clean and the beds were comfortable. The deck is in the late afternoon shade (in July) and the sea breeze makes sitting outside well into the evening enjoyable. The beach is a hidden gem. Hosts were quick to respond via text to any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Amazing Getaway!

This place is a great place to stay if you want to have a great time with your family and friends! The house is great very well maintained and fully equipped with all that you need. Cheryl (the owner) is amazing, easy to reach and super friendly. The view is spectacular, we were able to see some dolphins from the deck! We will be back definitively.

March trip

We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view of the gulf and a big deck to enjoy it from. Had fun shell hunting and walking along the shore. It was finally warm enough the last day to splash in the water a bit too. House was as described and we had no problems. We most loved the privacy of this location- absolutely no crowds.

We had a great stay!

We loved the location…lots of privacy. It’s also very close to drive-on beach access. We fished in the surf every day and caught an incredible variety of fish, even a small shark! The deck is perfect for watching sunrises and we never tired of the beautiful views through the wall-to-wall windows. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to make a home cooked meal. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home!
