The beach is a 5 minutes walk and surprisingly a very clean sandy beach. A 10/15 minutes rickshaw ride gets you to almost all surrounding temples and places of pilgrimage. ”

We reserved and paid for a “Deluxe Cottage with garden view”, but we were put in a 4th floor room in one of the tall buildings and we were told that the garden view was the view out of the windows, which was a view off of the grounds. “Booked a stay here during my first and only trip to the holy pilgrimage town of Jagannath Puri in Odisha. Chose it mainly for proximity to beach and to the location of a large festival I was attending— this worked really well for me. Not sure how far it is from major sights, temples, and shopping, but I was able to get around fine by foot and in autos.
