We loved the look and feel of the cabin and the adjoining doors. Overall, the cabin was clean except carpets were very stained and dirty, a reclining chair was broken and just propped against the wall, and a large hole in the screen of the porch. Some of this is as expected for a rental. We also had a big storm the first night we were there and water was literally coming through the log walls.
On night 2, we woke up to a bat flying in the cabin while our kids slept in the open loft! My husband was able to get the bat. We also heard additional bats. Due to a busy schedule, I called that afternoon and didn’t feel that I was taken seriously. They said they would send someone out but when we got home from our show, there was no communication. I called the late night on call and they couldn’t even find our reservation to see if anything had been done. I reinforced the safety concerns of having people sleeping with bats around!!! Someone finally texted about an hour later saying they would follow up. We pulled all our kids into the closed bedrooms to sleep that night and lost 3 bed spaces between the 2 cabins. I finally got a call at 10 am the next morning that they were moving us into a house. We were happy to move and the accommodations were very updated and large but we lost that day packing up 13 people (7 kids) and then moving into a new place for 2 nights. We were not provided any additional refund or compensation for our lost time and bed spaces. Disappointing.
