The price and location were terrific. The check-in process was needlessly complicated. There is no reason it should take 15-20 minutes of typing to check in a guest. The photos of the hotel look fantastic, but I think it's sad that they took a beautiful old building and remade it into something that tries to be hip and modern. The craftsmen who completed the remodel apparently took no pride in their work; the grouting and bathroom tile were a disaster. There are no windows to the outside; only windows that face the noisy, echoing interior. The Chinese tourists who were there had no consideration for the other guests, which is out of the hotel's control, but should be noted if you are looking for a quiet environment. The bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was a buffet on a trolley delivered to the room by a charming young lady who was the most pleasant of the staff that we interacted with. Overall, it was tolerable, but not an outstanding place that I would visit again or recommend to a friend.
