Christmas at Old Manse

When we arrived we found a lovely Christmas tree all decorated in the lounge. Everywhere was well organised and we found everything as per the information booklet. The house was large with plenty of space for all of us with separate day areas providing a variety of social spaces. We found the information booklet especially useful in planning our visits around the location.

A beautiful house which the photos just don't do justice to :)

Wow, what can we say. The house looked great online but far exceeded expectations when we first arrived. The property was beautiful with a great layout and space for different members of the family to have their own time. We absolutely loved every minute and wished we had stayed longer! It was also lovely for our little cavapoo who thoroughly enjoyed such a big garden to explore!

Perfect port in a storm!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Manse. The property is ideally located for touring the Cotswolds and provides a great space for a family get together. Our long weekend stay coincided with some fairly grim English weather which kept us all indoors for long periods, but the house is large and comfortable enough to ensure that we all had a relaxing and hugely enjoyable time. A truly wonderful Cotswold bolthole!

Family birthday celebrations

A truly beautiful house in a wonderful location within walking distance from Burford. Lovely comfortable beds and sofas My only request for if we were to book again (which we would) would be for more cutlery and glasses, and for locks on the downstairs cloakroom door and family bathroom. Otherwise a really wonderful ‘bolthole retreat.’

Easter weekend stay

We had a wonderful stay at The Old Manse. The property is absolutely stunning and has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard. The welcome pack we were given on arrival contained an exceptional quality of goods which were very much appreciated. The location is fabulous .. near enough to Burford without being in the middle of the tourists. Claire .. the main contact was lovely and helpful to deal with. Could not fault anything about this house and Would highly recommend this beautiful home for a stay in the Cotswolds.

Fabulous house in an amazing location!

Old Manse was everything we had read in the description and a lot more! Attention to detail was outstanding, kitchen and equipment professional standard. The whole house was spotless ( I was worried when it said 2 dogs welcome as we don’t have a dog ) no sign or smell of dogs anywhere exemplary cleaning!! The gardens were beautiful a little peace of heaven with visiting rabbits, birds and squirrels. Great location for all the Cotswolds without being stuck in the mayhem of Bourton on the water. We visited the famous farmers dog pub for dinner which was lovely and only a short taxi trip away and Burford has a wide choice of places to eat all within a 15 minute stroll. We Can’t praise this beautiful house highly enough if you want a quintessential British break with a touch of luxury.

A great family house

A beautiful house - very clean and well appointed. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed for a self catering stay. The lounge is comfortable and having the additional 'snug' room was a bonus. The beds were super comfortable and it was lovely to hear the owl hooting in the garden as we drifted off to sleep. The house is beautifully situated on a quiet lane with little noise heard from the road beyond that. A short 2 minute walk away is a very friendly pub serving great food - The Carpenter's Arms - and a children's playground. Just a little farther to walk to the lovely town of Burford, with its well stocked Co-op and an array of independent food, clothing and gift shops - something for everyone! A 'must' visit is the the extensive Burford Garden Centre where you can very easily spend a couple of hours - and a small fortune! The bookshop there is amazing too. Plenty of good attractions that our younger guests enjoyed within a short drive. However the Old Manse garden was fantastic for them to run off some steam with ball games and hide & seek. We only needed to contact Claire, the property manager, once and she was attentive and helpful. Would love to return.

Annual Friends Trip

Beautiful house 10 minutes walk from Burford. Amazing garden. Would love to have utilised (wrong time of year). Comfy beds, crisp white bedding and soft fluffy towels. Would have loved a bottle of wine in the "welcome pack" to toast our holiday.

Perfect in every way

From booking till end of stay - everything was well communicated. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable with plenty of room to relax, cook - whatever. The location is ideal for a family get together such as ours with good walks from the door. There are plenty of pubs with great atmosphere in nearby Burford which is an easy walk away. This was our second time at this property and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Very well appointed house ideal for our party of 3 couples. Everything was of a high standard Plenty of space. Kitchen well equipped. Location was great. Felt rural but just off main road. 5 minutes walk to Carpenters Arms where we had a great meal. 10 mins walk into Burford. Did a lovely 5 mile walk from the house one day. Ok

Very comfortable stay easily accommodating 8 adults. Lovely secure garden for the dog. Would recommend the Carpenters arms in Fulbrook - good food and helpful staff.
