The hosts are very kind and lovely, but the description does not fully reveal that this is NOT actually a private rental. The basement suite is not separate from the rest of the house in any way. This means you enter the house through the main floor kitchen adjacent to the backyard, and go downstairs to the suite area, however there is no actual door, meaning that if the owners are home and on their main floor, you will hear them and they will hear you. The bedrooms do have a door on each of them, but they are not large enough to spend more time in other than for sleeping. So if you are in the living space with the couch, TV, table, you are in an open area that is not separated from the main floor with any kind of barrier. The accommodations themselves were good, but the listing as described made me believe I was booking a private basement suite, where I would not feel as though I were living with roommates. If you are an extrovert and are okay with being with new people, it's fine. And the hosts WERE very nice. But personally, I was hoping to have a private getaway where I could have my own space and privacy and not be in the company of people I didn't know.
Their garden IS very beautiful and the hosts were extremely hospitable. But again, just want to emphasize it's not fully private.
