Amazing one of a kind home with privacy. Very spacious with fully equipped kitchen. Enjoyed being together as a family with our adult children. Fenced yard was ideal for the pets. Had some internet issues and the owner was very responsive. Highly recommend!

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a stunning home with unique features throughout. I was not happy with the cleanliness of the home though. It has big widows everywhere with wonderful views, but the window were all dirty and the screens filled with webs and bugs. There were cobwebs in almost every room. Because of that I would not stay again. Parking was also very difficult.

Home on the hill nestled in the trees

Perfect Picturesque and Quiet Place

Paradise in the Woods

The property is fabulous. You’re in the woods but can see the ocean. Views are from every direction as are doors and patios that provide air and sunlight to come drifting in for a true feeling of nature. Huge amount of space to spread out and not be on top of everyone.

Treehouse

What a special home that was clearly built with love and attention to detail. We loved watching the sunlight move throughout the day across the house and the view from the windows was like living in a treehouse at the edge of an oak forest. The open main floor with one bedroom downstairs was perfect for our family and made it easy to gather and cook together. Thank you for creating the book on how the owner built the house, we enjoyed learning about the entire process down to the adorable frog doorknobs. We didn't want to leave!

Perfect Weekend in Cambria

What a joy it was to have our 3 daughter's prepare a special wedding anniversary dinner for us in this lovely home. The Lord blessed us with 18 years of blissful marriage and we were able to celebrate it with our family. The sunset we saw from the bedroom terrace was something we'll never forget. He who findeth a wife, findeth a good thing and obtaineth favor from the Lord. Amen! Prov 18:22 What a memorable stay! Thank you.

A month at Casa Tranquila

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was wonderful - not beach front but close enough and a great retreat. The house was spacious and nice to see just for the details in the construction. We have been at many locations over the years and this house had the best kitchen, best space for storing all our food/goods, best showers, most space, comfortable, quiet and the pool table was more fun than we expected it would be. The only less than perfect score was the hauling of our activity stuff (kayak was left outdoors), but had to haul the golf clubs, kayak gear, bicycles up and down each time (we are pretty active). We totally understand the owners needing space (garage) for their things but it was a bit of a hassle. If we were minimalists it would be a non issue.

Our family recently enjoyed a memorable stay at a beautiful home in Cambria, California. The experience was nothing short of spectacular. The home's location was perfect, offering breathtaking views of both the mountains and the ocean. Waking up to the stunning scenery was a highlight of our trip. The house itself was amazing and exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully decorated, spacious, and equipped with all the amenities we needed. Each room was thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and a touch of luxury. The large windows allowed us to fully appreciate the incredible views from nearly every angle. The pool table was a highlight each day and night and cooking in the fabulous kitchen a true delight! Jackie and Hayleigh were so friendly, helpful and made the booking process smooth and hassle-free. The ladies we're wonderful and answered every question I had and were so much fun too. Our stay in Cambria was truly unforgettable, thanks to this beautiful home and the excellent service provided by the rental company. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque getaway. We can’t wait to return and trust me we will!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve rented for decades in Cambria. This home has a beautiful custom build. We have a similar home: mountain / hacienda style. We were drawn to the look, space & privacy. That said, many DEAL BREAKERS for this property, doesn’t matter how nice it looks. AWFUL OUTDATED MATTRESSES: Of the 3 bedrooms, 2 have King beds. BOTH mattresses are HORRIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE & outdated. You will wake up sore, stiff necks & aching backs from NO SLEEP. We tried flipping both mattresses, taking the mattress pad off etc. If you can’t sleep, VACATION IS RUINED.LOCKED CLOSETS / NOWHERE FOR CLOTHING: Owner locked the only closets available in each bedroom, (except one in bedroom with single bed.) NO Master closet, no dresser, nowhere to store clothes. You are relegated to an Ikea book case or a TV armoire. MASTER BATHTUB WATER IS SHUTOFF: NOT DISCLOSED. The master tub has the water SHUT OFF. *Half-way through our stay, Breen modified their description, AFTER THE FACT.* GARAGE NOT AVAILABLE: NOT DISCLOSED. It is shown on website photo & described to “park in the garage" in instructions. *Half-way through our stay, Breen modified their description, AFTER THE FACT.*FILTHY HOUSE ON ARRIVAL: House was dirty, dusty, filled with cobwebs, spiders & dead bugs. Outside decks were filthy, covered in leaves, pine needles. Dog **** in the yard. $300 cleaning fee?WE LEFT ON DAY 12 of 30. Breen gave us money back on unused time, not after a week+ of getting push back by Jeannine. We were exhausted from horrible sleep & frustrated trying to deal with Breen. Who wants to spend vacation time emailing back & forth with the property manager? Breen ordered a mattress, not to arrive until the END OF WEEK 3. No other house rental has ever shut off water to a tub. Breen offered a rolling clothing cart in lieu of having no closets. Casa Tranquila, NOT SO TRANQUILA. We drove days from Idaho for a mon

Amazing, Storied Home!

We stayed here for 4 weeks, after falling in love with the pictures and description online, and wanting to revisit the Cambria area after some years’ absence. The home is as unique and stunning as the listing suggests! It feels removed from most of the world, not crammed into a typical Cambrian small lot. We could hear the ocean during high tides, sometimes could hear the bark of elephant seals , and heard the wind through the trees surrounding the house and the birds. Saw turkey, deer, and squirrel out the kitchen window; peakaboo views of ocean out the front windows and off the decks; and moonsets and sunrises. Definitely “tranquilo”! Note that there ARE many stairs winding up to the house from the parking area, and also out the back into the backyard and to the hot tub, and these can become slick during rains. We did a lot of leaf sweeping in between storms. Also, while one bedroom and a 3/4 bath are on the main level, the view bedrooms are up a beautiful flight of stairs, which might not be accessible for some people. Fireplace worked well. On-demand hot water takes some figuring out, as does the radiant floor heat, but there were good instructions, and warmed up, these made us very comfortable. Beds and beddings were mostly comfortable, too. Everyone is different, though. Be aware that during heavy rains, which we had a lot, the interior ceiling and beams leaked a bit in LR/DR. We found plastic buckets and had brought some “dog towels” to sop up the water. But this was a job. We loved the home and didn’t want to see it damaged any further by the water, so manned the buckets. And although we contacted the rental company to alert them, nothing came of that. Judging by the staining, the leaking has been an ongoing problem. Hopefully this home gets an upgrade soon before it is seriously damaged. Know that you are responsible for lugging the garbage and recycling bins downhill, then back uphill, which is quite steep, once a week. This is definitely a home for abled renters only. But we are glad we stayed in this amazing, storied place. Many cozy corners to snuggle up with a book. Wi-fi worked great (we work remotely). The pool table saw much use. The refrigerator is awesome! We cooked every day, and love the kitchen. (Cert. Market on Fri!). And the folks around the ‘hood were friendly on our frequent walks. We made many friends. (Keep your dogs on leads, please, and pick up after them!) Best part: the ocean nearby and many parks!

We especially enjoyed the peaceful privacy, the bird and wildlife sightings, and sunsets from the beautiful balcony/outdoor living space. We looked forward to sitting in front of the fireplace in the evenings. The fenced in yard was an added convenience for us and our dog. The Strawberry Canyon trails, and greenspace were adjacent to the property, and it is a short walk or drive to shelling in the ocean tide pools or walking the scenic Fiscalini Ranch trails. We have been spending Feb. in Cambria for 16 yrs. and enjoy the small-town charm and hospitality along with the many great dining choices. The Breen Vacation Rental team was friendly, helpful and professional throughout our stay. We highly recommend Cambria and Casa Tranquilo for a stress-free getaway.

Magical Month Long Holiday Stay at Casa Tranquilo!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Casa Tranquilo is a STUNNING home that offers peace, solitude & a chance to connect with nature daily. (We're already missing the bird calls, crash of the waves & distant morning greetings from the sea lions.) The home was well-stocked, impeccably clean, pet-friendly, incredibly comfortable & features a beautifully designed kitchen that is an absolute treat if you love to cook like my husband & I do! (Honestly, pictures don't do this property 's perfect.) It's an easy 20-minute walk to the beach and/or Fiscalini Ranch Preserve (a 5-minute drive) & a quick 10-minute drive into the village of Cambria. The home's location is driving distance to the heart of Big Sur country within an hour, Paso's many fine vineyards in 20 minutes, and all the many hidden treasures of the SLO area in 30 minutes. The Breen Vacation Station team was a delight to work with & were incredibly accommodating with our questions leading up to our stay & working around our work conflicts for our mid-stay clean. Our time in Cambria (and at Casa Tranquilo) is by far one of our favorite long-term stays we've ever experienced! We're already looking forward to our next stay as we'll certainly be back!
