Cindy’s cabin was beautiful, comfortable, and accommodating. It was secluded but a relatively short drive to restaurants and groceries (however, you will probably want to avoid bringing a low clearance vehicle, as the road leading to the house is steep, unpaved, and somewhat uneven). We had a couple issues during our stay — the keypad at the back door only worked intermittently upon arriving, and we had no hot water for the duration of our two-night stay. However, Cindy was responsive to both issues and refunded our stay in exchange for the lack of hot water, as it could not be fixed until after our departure. I am giving 5 stars because I understand both are fixable issues that should not affect future stays, and Cindy remedied each one to the best of her ability without us having to ask. I would stay at Cindy’s cabin again because it has the perfect vibe for a cozy mountain getaway with a view!

Gorgeous place, lovely cabin

My husband and I were looking forward to connecting with nature and enjoying a short getaway with our 6mo puppy. We loved everything about this place: the location, the cabin itself and how well-equipped it was, the trails and parks nearby and the gorgeous and peaceful view. It was the perfect reset. I 100% recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature and a slower pace. Instructions left by owner were crystal clear and very effective, she was also super welcoming and responsive to messaging. We were sad to leave and hope to come back in the future.

Outstanding views from this sweet cabin. The cabin was tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. The property was as advertised with everything we could have needed. The front porch was our favorite! We enjoyed coffee out there in the mornings, reading and just sitting in the afternoon & evening. We could see fireworks in the distance on 4th of July. The owner was quick to answer when I had a question. We enjoyed this long weekend get away so much! Would definitely rent this property again.

Peaceful and Secluded Getaway

The property was awesome and just as advertised, which is unusual these days. It accommodated the 4 individuals staying extremely comfortable. Entire property was Very clean and contained all the required essentials and then some. Great views from the balcony of the nearby mountains and countryside. Very relaxing to seat in the balcony with a cup of coffee or favorite beverage and decompress from the stress of life. The owner was extremely helpful and very easy to communicate with. Stayed in touch to make sure our needs were being met. Also, responded very quickly to my text messages. Detailed directions to the property were provided. Only request is that a few more rockers with comfortable cushions be provided for the balcony. Would highly recommend this property.

The stag with a Mountain View

We stayed for a family reunion in the area. The home was beautiful, well kept, and had everything we need to make a great stay. The host was fabulous, checked in to make sure we were able to get in the home okay and to see how the stay was going. I would highly suggest this property to anyone with 4wheel drive vehicles!

Mountain Retreat

Anniversary- 44 years

Beautiful place and great scenery in the mountains. If you love peace and quiet , this is the place for you. Get some groceries before your trip up. You’re about 20 minutes from grocery store. Remember, 12miles may take you 20 minutes, a little curvy but we didn’t have any problems with 2 wheel drive. Would definitely recommend the place

Gorgeous View

The view from the cabin is gorgeous. We could see all the way to Pilot Mountain. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. It was apparent that thought went into all the amenities provided. Hopefully we will be able to stay again soon.

Great Getaway Property!

Nice, clean and as advertised! Owner was great in communications. Only reason for a 4 star vs a 5 the only deck/view is from the front and the deck is pretty small. A large deck with a hot-tub with those views would be a 5 star! Also, again, as advertised (& I knew in advance), alittle ways out from things to do (Mt Airey, etc). Minor issues with furnace, but got those sorted!

Beautiful gem in the mountains

We really loved this property. Three bedrooms and 2.5 baths made it easy to have six adults and our doggie. The home is well appointed and the back porch offers great views.

Great stay in beautiful cabin

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the stay in this beautiful cabin. My mother said it was the nicest place she had ever stayed in . We loved walking around the area and eating in the deck while taking in the sunset. We will be back!

wonderful, relaxing stay, very convenient for a getaway day to Blue RIdge Music Center, and Dobson,

We would have liked for the view from the deck to have had a better panorama, if the top of the trees hadn't been so tall it would have been spectacular, as it was from upstairs bedroom. But even with the small view, our mornings and evenings on the deck, the four of us having coffee, wine, devotions, conversations, were such a blessing.

Great Family Property Vacation

Lovely place, excellent communication, clean as a whistle! The kitchen had everything we needed, safe environment. We have been coming to Fancy Gap/Cana for over 25 years and love it! The only difficulty we had was the height of all the beds. Our 90 year old tiny mother could not safely get up and down from any of the beds so - she had to sleep in a cot we brought along. She is very fit for her age but we were not willing to risk injury. There are only one set of stairs to the deck but they are easy to use. Thanks for the memories!

Fantastic!

I can not say enough great things about our stay and this property. Everything was perfect. Views for miles! Unbelievably quiet! The property owner was very responsive and even gave the best direction with little details, like where to turn in the driveway. which I did not read thoroughly and we went blowing by! :) Beds were great, showers was great/hot with the tankless hot water heater. Beyond furnished with everything you could possibly need and more. We would 100% stay here again!

Great Long Weekend Stay

The property is a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and to Mt. Airy, NC. It was very well stocked with everything that we needed. Cindy checked with us to make sure that we arrived okay and everything was fine with the property when we arrived. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Great quiet house for rural mountain break

We really enjoyed our stay, which we used for a quiet weekend away to get writing work done in a relaxed environment. Beautiful views in the direction of Pilot Mountain from a quiet and very comfortable cabin. Everything we needed was there, and the host was very responsive when we needed to text about (very minor) issues that came up. We strongly recommend a visit.
