We really enjoyed our 2 week stay in SW Florida. This was only our second trip to the area so we learned a lot about the experience and area for future winter getaways.
Vacasa was outstanding in support of our stay. We encountered some unexpected circumstances that needed immediate attention upon arrival and Vacasa delivered. Their response was quick and definitive. We could not have asked for more.
Having said that, we need to point out our overall concern and disappointment with the property. It is advertised as “luxury coastal”. Neither word could remotely describe this property.
The neighborhood is certainly not coastal, which we knew of course. But even considering the hurricane recovery-in-process of nearly half of the homes, the area is a distinct mix of well maintained homes and others that are not. Even the roads are more what you would find in a Midwest county where potholes are common.
The home itself proved comfortable and provided everything we needed. It “looked” like the listing pictures, but also not quite right. It’s reasonable to expect favorable presentation and wide angle photos. Even so, every room was met with a “oh, hmmm”. From the painted cabinets, wood paneling in the hall bath, tile floor in the master shower, and on and on, the reaction was “well, they clearly tried”.
The garage is available which is a nice bonus. However, there is a large shelving unit installed on the front wall that limits the type of vehicle that will fit! A 2015 Nissan Pathfinder just fits. Some other mid size SUV might, a family sized van not sure, but certainly nothing full sized like a Tahoe or F150.
The pool is very nice. The setting is relaxing and relatively private. It’s a perfect setting for 2 with the chaise lounge seats provided. The waterfall feature provides a lovely background that mutes the sound of the busy boulevard nearby. The water is not heated and consequently COLD. In these winter months some visitors, like half of our party, may only be able to go knee-deep. That is big loss for us.
New TVs. New washer. New kitchen appliances. Very nice.
Again, hats off to Vacasa. They replaced the coffee maker, attended to the pool and even offered a small courtesy rebate. The ice maker doesn’t work and needs repair after our stay.
