We are originally from Cape and came down to visit our family and it was the perfect location right across the street from a little park. It was excellent and look forward to staying there on our next visit. Chip was very responsive for all conversations. Definitely a great rental.

Our family had a wonderful stay at "Brickyard". We were visiting the area for a family reunion. The location is great, the house is spacious and clean and beautifully decorated. The entire house was well stocked. Chip, the host, was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Also, the backyard enclosed patio room was very enjoyable!

So much charm!

Lovely home perfect for our weekend celebrating our daughter’s graduation. Chip was an excellent host, even found us champagne flutes! Beds were comfortable, house was clean and nicely decorated.

Chip was an excellent host, always available to provide tips about restaurants and answer any questions about the property. Property was in great condition and would not hesitate to recommend.

This home is picture perfect!! Chip (and Busy) were wonderful hosts and gave a grand tour of the home along with pointing out architectural and period details in this historic Dutch Colonial Revival. The property is set up away from the street in a very quiet neighborhood. Everything we could have needed was available to us. This won’t be our last visit.

Excellent property. Chip was wonderful!!

Group of ladies came and loved this little gem. Chip was a wonderful and gracious host. Fresh flowers and snacks were waiting for us! The history that comes with the property is amazing. Can’t say enough good things and would definitely stay again.

Overall Positive

My friend and I wanted a low-key weekend in a comfortable house within walking distance of restaurants. We got that with the Brickyard in Cape. Our host, Chip, obviously put a lot of thought and care into the house and our guest experience. It's a unique home that felt private while being very close to restaurants and shops. We enjoyed our stay!

Perfect Stay in Cape

The Brickyard was perfect for our family. Six of us - two adults and four teenagers - had plenty of room to spread out. Beds were comfortable, water in showers warm, kitchen just right for making breakfast during our stay. Great location - close to SEMO and downtown. Would definitely stay again!

Nice weekend in Cape

Was in town working a convention, family stayed here more than I did but they enjoyed their time there. Property is next to local park, the split door made it great to have open for a breeze and keep an eye on the kids. Beds were comfy and everyone had a great time. Our host, Chip, was friendly and informative on the history of the property, kids loved meeting with him and "Busy" his 4 legged friend.

Enjoyed our stay

Overall, this was a great house for our family of four and our needs. Close to our extended family who we were visiting and close to downtown and river. A unique older home with lots of character. Our host, Chip, was terrific! He allowed us to check in 30 minutes early and made himself available if we needed anything. Thank you Chip : )The only slight critique I could offer would be to have different sheets available for the beds as the current sets felt rough. It was our first time in Cape Girardeau and we very much enjoyed our time!

Lovely old house

The house was clean and is being restored to its original beauty. Chip greeted us at checkin to go over a few elements of an older house and provided some history of the property. It is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. The location was perfect for being close to downtown and campus. There are several steps, to the front door and to access bedrooms. We really enjoyed our stay in this historical home!

The perfect home for us.

We just left the Brickyard, and we found the home to be exceptional. We have stayed at many VROBs and AirBB all over the country and this is one of our all time favorites. The house is beautifully furnished and quietly luxurious. Our host Chip met us at check-in and made us feel right at home. We got a quick and interesting tour of the property. Somehow the home feels both historic and brand new at the same time. A beautiful mix of antique character with all the modern conveniences we expect. It’s very convenient to the old downtown with lots of restaurants and shops, and there is a great little park directly across the street which our 8YO nephew really enjoyed. We are already planning on booking this house on our next visit to Cape.

Our entire stay from beginning to end was so pleasant and comfortable. Chip was an amazing host and he has done wonderful with the update on this historic home. The home is absolutely stunning for its age!Chip as the host made sure that we were settled in comfortably and the home was stocked with plenty of paper goods, coffee and kitchen necessities. The appliances are top notch as the rest of the house including the bathrooms that were on a level of their own.Not only is the Chip and the house amazing, he mailed a lost wallet left in the couch UPS priority.We travel for work and usually rent homes 10-14 times a year and this stands on top for quality, cleanliness, uniqueness and the feeling of home away from home.Thank you Chip for opening your rental to us all!!

Brother/Sisters weekend trip

This was the best family weekend trip that we have ever had. We have been getting together for over forty years. Just being able to visit in such a lovely house, that had all the amenities you would need. The kitchen had full size appliances that were ease to use. Everything in the kitchen was so clean. The living area had plenty of space to sit and visit or watch to t.v. The bedroom had comfort beds and pillows. My favorite thing was the soaking tub. The owner met us and helped unload our car. He gave a tour of the house and explained how things worked and pointed out some of the history of the place. He always answered my texts in a timely manner and offered suggestions on where to eat. This house was clean and had a very welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend the “Brickyard” house for your vacation or weekend trip.
