Laika House 3 habitaciones / 2 baños

Laika House es una cómoda casa privada a pocos pasos de la playa y justo en el corazón de The Village at Captiva. Su amplio y soleado porche delantero da a los jardines que están rodeados de prósperos bosques tropicales. Laika también tiene una piscina privada climatizada.

Laika también tiene duchas al aire libre en la planta baja, conveniente después de su regreso de la playa. En el interior, las áreas comunes cuentan con pisos de madera y muebles prácticos. Estás listo para cenar, entretenerte o relajarte después de un gran día en la playa. Las puertas francesas se abren a la soleada terraza delantera. Mantente en contacto con WIFI.

Hay tres dormitorios y dos baños completos. Detrás de Laika House se encuentra la piscina y el patio trasero, y luego un espeso bosque tropical completamente vacío de habitantes humanos. Eso significa mucha paz y tranquilidad, brisas frescas y una naturaleza maravillosa.

Los terrenos frontales de Laika fueron recientemente ajardinados. Hay una gran privacidad para tomar el sol en la terraza delantera o nadar en la parte de atrás. Laika Rocks!!

We had a perfect week away. Yet the best came at the time our departure and our car died. AAA kept us waiting 2 hours. We think our hero was Ferdinand? From American Rentals who drove back to his office- brought his pickup and got us going!!! He was amazing and I hope someone tells his boss.

Lovely experience after long absence from Captiva Island

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was in a great location walkable to the beach a few houses down. We walked to shops and also to the Bubble Room that reopened in July. We were a family of eight, two kids three and five and the room situation worked out perfectly for our family and grandchildren. Could use a wagon but managed with one bought by family. My suggestion would be to have a few more supplies in the house as just S and P in the kitchen makes for lots of groceries and simple cleaning supplies, nothing there to spray to wipe a counter or glass top table besides a sponge or paper towels

Late July Family Vaca

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in Captiva pre Ian many times but not stayed on Laika Lane. Laika House was perfect size for my family. Pool was fantastic (would have been great if we had access to the outdoor bathroom) property and home were clean and had all the amenities we needed for the week. The home itself needs a few fixes but certainly did not hinder our week. Short walk to beach for our early afternoon then back to enjoy the pool. Wagon needs replaced it is a bit rusted and made it more difficult to pull in the sand but had plenty of chairs and an umbrella to enjoy our beach time. We love Captiva and plan to return we hope the rebuild continues as we miss a lot of the shops and places to eat. But hands down enjoyed BOOP ice cream and RC OTTER food and service was outstanding. Highly recommend Laika House and American Reality is a pleasure to work with.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed in this house for many years and we have many great memories here. The location is great, and the private pool is fantastic. However, the new owners need to make some upgrades as soon as possible. It wouldn't take much—just some new appliances, furniture, and blinds would go a long way. We had some problems this year, but American Realty took care of everything. Their staff was on point to make everything right. This is our last year to stay in this house as American reality has found us a new house to stay in next year as a massive upgrade. For the price point and location Laika house is hard to beat. I hope it gets the upgrades that it needs so I can keep giving memories to many more families to come.

With three little ones, the beach is only appealing for a day or two. Laika’s pool though, is always in demand:) We are hoping to learn how to access the half bath off of the pool so that we aren’t taking water and dirt through the home when swimming. That’s the only opportunity we can offer!! Thank you!!

We’ve rented through American Reality of Captiva before and will again. We would stay at the Laika House again. 👍😁 FYI for anyone renting the Laika House: 1- Enjoy watching the Osprey nest just to the bay side of the pool in back. 2- Bring your own pool and beach things and basic things to cook and eat at home, such as salt/pepper, foil, coffee filters etc. The house is great but it is basic and bare bones.

Quick response to our service request. Close to Boops by The Bubble Room where we enjoyed coffee, ice cream & desserts several times during our stay. Captiva Island Pizza was quick and delicious as was the Shell City Burger Truck. Wonderful experience with Captain Brian on the Water! So fun to see the island and nature from the water. Multiple trips to JN Ding Darling Natl Wildlife Refuge for birding and their lovely Nature Center and a fun educational trip through the park on the Wildlife Refuge Tram Tour. Happy to see Captiva Strong!

Location is best part

The positives- the location is great. Short walk to the beach and restaurants. The trees and overall landscaping is beautiful. This house has so much potential!! However, the house itself needs so much work. This is our third time staying on the island, and the most we’ve spent this far on a house. For the amount of money… we would expect much nicer amenities. The house was not clean upon arrival; there was food particles on the carpet and under the table. We vacuumed ourselves the first day and the vacuum was full. There was mold in the bathroom shower that could easily be cleaned with bleach. The shower backed up the first day; we called maintenance on this- the gentleman explained it was the way the shower floor slanted ? However, miraculously it was better afterwards. The kitchens drawers were filthy on the insides. All the cabinetry was sticky; like it had never been cleaned. Half the outlets didn’t work. We did contact the office about he lack of cleanliness; they sent a “cleaning crew” back… no idea what more they cleaned, it looked no different. Do not expect beach amenities! Supposedly they are not apart of the rental, but we’ve never had this problem at other homes we’ve rented. The umbrella is rusted out, and broken, beach chairs rusty, old broken tykes wagon -that we were able to get replaced Bc I explained my husbands foot was broken (this is true). Beach towels are torn and old. If I were the owners of a million dollar home on this beautiful island I would be embarrassed. I’m sure they have no idea what poor shape the house is in… At least I hope not for the amount they are charging. We had friends visit from Naples and I found myself apologizing for the house! We love Captiva and work hard to bring our family down for a week. While we still certainly enjoyed ourselves, I will definitely make sure next time that the house is everything one would expect for the amount of money.

Spring Break 2022

We had multiple couples stay and the rooms were great. Plenty of room for everyone. There were enough chairs for everyone at the dinner table. The light switches were a little confusing for the pool area and walkway lighting. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend staying at this location again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Laika House. The location is great, convenient to the beach. The home was very clean, and well equipped, kitchen-wise. Several disappointments however: first, there was no Information binder or placard to provide specifics on trash, wiFi password, rules and regs, etc. One was supposed to be dropped off by the management company but never was. We actually found it by accident in the kitchen cabinet above the microwave two days later.A number of light bulbs were either burnt out or missing : stove cooktop, kitchen ceiling fan, master bath vanity. Also, the coffee maker had a used coffee filter full of coffee grounds left in the machine, and the coffee pot itself had to be soaked for several hours to get it clean. Not what should be found by incoming renters. Ice maker was not functioning, and only two small ice cube trays were provided, and one was cracked and split and non-functional. We actually bought three more trays and left them for the next renters.Overall we were satisfied with our stay, but paying better attention to simple maintenance items such as those above would have turned the Four Star into a Five Star.

Perfect Beach Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is a perfect place for our little family to stay. Just steps from the beach, and also so close to everything in downtown Captiva. The electricity went out for a moment and the realty company was incredibly responsive and was there within minutes! The house is perfect size and heated pool is delightful.

awesome property!

This home is just perfect for 6-8 people. it is nestled near the beach on a quiet tropical road. The pool was a wonderful addition. My only issue was with a few minor things inside (door missing to laundry closet, no hair dryer, some lights not working, fridge shelf missing)
