  • Spring is perfect for hiking, bonfires and S’mores! Relax in the Caldera Spa Hot Tub after a long day of hiking. Minutes from wine trails, Giant City State Park, lakes and SIU! Open floor plan, gourmet kitchen, top of the line appliances, spa like bathroom, designer lighting. Oversized covered deck overlooking your own creek adds additional living and chilling space. Bedrooms include adjustable beds and dimmable touch lamps with charging stations. You may just want to stay on the property and chill! Check out the photos to see more! Read our reviews! So close to everything but so removed from the hustle and bustle! FYI, we have an exterior camera that monitors the driveway and steps leading to the home. Winter months are my personal favorite months for hiking and outdoor activities! Cool and crisp, the many rock formations are exposed and bonfires and a hot tub add the perfect ending to a day outdoors!

Ann's house was perfect for our stay! The location was perfect, so peaceful and beautiful. Her house, from the furniture, to the artwork, to the little mermaid in the shower, was very beautiful and homey. We are already planning our next visit! Thank you Ann!

Everything was as described, property is beautiful and secluded, yet only ten minutes from town and multiple hiking trails. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a weekend away to recharge.

This is a wonderful place! Fully equipped kitchen, great host, the deck adds so much living space! A great place to come home to after a long day hiking or vineyard-hopping.

Great property and the best owners! Loved the location for the winerys and parks. The hot tub was a major highlight of the property. Ann was excellent at communication and had suggestions of local establishments. If you are in the area. A must stay!

Great weekend. Property was even nicer than the pictures show. The cabin had everything we needed and the host was prompt with answering any question I had. Definitely plan on staying here again in the future!

Home away from home

This is our second time staying here and we will always stay here when we come to visit if it's available. The setting is perfect and so are the accommodations. It just feels like home, only better!

Great cabin

What a wonderful place for a getaway. Beautiful cabin with everything you could ask for. Very quiet and peaceful, just what we needed. Would definitely stay again if we are ever back to the area. Great hosts and communication.

Was stocked with absolutely everything you may need and my wife loved the decor. Many great little touches and conveniently located near SIU and the wine trails.

Beautiful, Relaxing Home

This retreat was absolutely lovely. We did not want to leave. Gorgeous decor, relaxing views on the deck, comfortable beds, everything you could need in the kitchen, and it just has a cozy feel. Next time I travel to Carbondale, I’ll be sure to stay here again!

The cabin—really a guesthouse—is well-stocked and very comfortable: there are loads of blankets, pillows, coffee, spices, and cute decor. It was a great location for folks looking to explore the western portion of Shawnee Nat’l Forest, Shawnee Wine Trail wineries, state parks, & nearby towns. Ann was super responsive and offered helpful recommendations. Highly recommend.

The place was absolutely amazing! A hidden gem. The space is beautiful. The owner put so much thought into the decor. The place was clean and provided all the essentials we needed and more. We will definitely be back and highly recommend.

Great long weekend

My wife and I had a great long weekend here. The cabin was perfect for us. It was clean and in a wonderful location. It’s secluded but within east driving distance to the wineries and Giant City State Park. We are already discussing our next trip.

wonderful home and host

Of the many properties I've stayed at this is the best ever. The home itself is beautiful and well appointed. It's location in the woods is quiet and peaceful. The host Ann is readily available for any need or question.

The house was great. Clean and updated. Location was great. Quiet with the deck overlooking a forest in back. Quite a bit of wildlife. Absolutely no complaints.
