This unit is all about location. Right under the fortress wall with easy access on many routes into the fortress. Views at night from the unit gardens are priceless.We took advantage of the 13 euro/nt secure parking (cash) at the hotel across the street. It was prearranged by David and I would recommend it. Street parking is a free for all especially in the busy season. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms as advertised, however, one bedroom is actually ensuite. The other has an ensuite shower , sink, bidet with the toilet in a half bath off the living room. Not unworkable for us as we travelled with friends. Kitchen well appointed with refridge and freezer. Laundry room with washer down stairs.Check in/out easy.

A spacious house, with a fully functional kitchen. Lovely garden areas with views of the medieval city along with sitting areas and a dining area. The house is located in a quiet area. Communication with host was excellent.

Amazing charming house at the foot of The Cité Castle wall

David was a gracious host who met us upon our arrival and walked us through for an introduction to the home. Great communication before and during stay. House is charming, spacious and perfect to relax for two couples. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Private rock wall garden and two upper level terraces are 100 yards from the wall of The Cité and unbelievable any time of day or with the castle lit at night. Pictures do no do justice to the charm of the home or terraced garden. Would come back to this home and Carcassonne in a heartbeat. Also, David was so gracious when we accidentally cracked a container on the expression machine. Can’t miss staying here!

Best lodging in Carcassonne

We have visited Carcassonne every summer for the past 7 years. This was our favorite place to stay. It was perfectly situated for walking into La Cité, as well as getting in and out of town. Beautiful view, gardens, well-equipped, quiet, comfortable, great A/C and internet. Love to come back.

Amazing spot!

We feel like we struck gold in finding this amazing spot in Carrcasonne! It really is super close to the old Cite, a 5 min walk (if that) up a short path to the main gate. The house is lovely, comfortable and well furnished/equipped. Looks as good or even better than advertised. The yard is simply beautiful with great views of the castle walls and lovely seating areas to relax when you are done exploring the castle. Our kids loved the garden and exploring the castle. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit, and maybe for longer even!!

Perfect in every way

This is our second stay as we liked it so much last time we had to stay again. David is the perfect host, incredibly helpful and always available to answer any questions by email or text. The property is spacious, spotlessly clean, with a great private terrace, beautiful terraced gardens almost up to the Cite walls and the views are breathtaking. We particularly like the character of the property, which is furnished beautifully with really funky ornaments throughout. The beds are comfortable and there is everything needed to self cater if you do not want to eat out. The property is close to beautiful restaurants, a 15 minute walk up to the Cite (uphill and I walk very slowly!), it is also a 20 minute walk into Le Bastide for shops and the beautiful square to sit, drink coffee and people watch. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return again in the future.

Wonderful property with an amazing garden

Wonderful property with very comfortable furnishings. Modern clean bathrooms. The garden was amazing with a lovely private terrace with table, chairs and sun loungers. Further terraces were shared with 1 other property and had seating at each level. The view of the city ramparts was spectacular.

Great location for visiting Carcassonne old city- 5 minute walk up hill to L'Aude gate. 10-15 minutes flat walking to old bridge ( Pont Vieux) then another 10 -15 minutes to visit the restaurant and cafe area ( Place Carnot) and the train station plus Canal du Midi boat trips.

A great place for travelers to enjoy

Staying in this cozy house under the fortress walls is an unforgettable experience! David welcomed us with such a smile and heart - he was a pleasure to communicate with and made our check-in very easy and pleasant! The home offers everything you need for a great stay, but it also has something extra - a wonderful atmosphere. We would like to stay longer in this wonderful place! Location and authenticity perfection

This accommodation was perfection for the 14th July fireworks. Own garden to enjoy the display right above us. If I were to imagine the quintessential French home in Carcassonne, this is it. Oils not have picked a better home to enjoy Carcassonne. Thank you.

Amazing location and house

If you want to check out Carcassonne, I highly recommend this house. It has everything you need, and is very stylish with a lot of original character like the floors but bathrooms and kitchen are modern and very pleasant to use. It is just a couple minutes from the castle - with young kids, we were able to come back for naps and it was enjoyable for the adults too since it has a huge yard with views of the remparts. The AC in bedrooms and living room was so useful with the heat. David is a great host; he let us check in early and greeted us to show us the property and give us a map of the area. I only wish I had booked more nights to explore the area like the Montagne Noire or some vineyards

Beautiful apartment with a view

Very nice apartment with a beautiful view of the castle from the garden. It is only a short walk to the castle gate. There is free street parking but it’s luck of the draw to find one close by. Quiet neighborhood with great ambience.

If you are wanting to explore carcassonne for the castle and everything the walled city offers its literally in your backyard... either a 5 min hike or by car about 5 minutes to the opposite gate
