Stylish modern villa with private heated pool in scenic Trebes, near Carcassonne

We have rented out our villa since 2009 when we first purchased the villa as a holiday home. We have found it to be an excellent home from home and in a beautiful location. Our villa has 2 stories with a private heated pool, parking, a garage and is fully walled with lockable gates. On the ground floor we have a spacious open plan area with separate dining and lounge areas. The dining table seats 6 comfortably and looks on to the front terrace accessed by a sliding door. There is comfortable seating in the lounge including 2 three seater sofas. We have a modern, well equipped kitchen with a separate utility area. Our private terrace to the rear of the villa is accessible from the lounge. The terrace is tastefully furnished with a large garden table and 6 chairs and excellent for barbecuing. The pool terrace has a number of sun loungers. A WC and storage complete this floor. Upstairs we have 3 double bedrooms and a bathroom. Each bedroom has excellent storage facilities. Trebes: Villa Rene is a 5 minute walk from the centre of picturesque Trebes. You can also enjoy tranquil walks through the vineyards just minutes from the Villa. The village of Trebes provides everything you might need during your stay, and has a variety of shops. The local supermarket is within 10 minute walk, and the larger shops are a short 5 minute drive away. You can reach Carcassonne by car in 10 mins. Carcassonne has a general market on Tuesday and Thursday and a large variety of shops and other facilities.
There are several small traditional villages close to Trebes and the views around Trebes are to be particularly enjoyed.
The Canal du Midi which starts in Sete, winds its way through Trebes en route to Toulouse. A walk or cycle along the tree shaded banks is a perfect way to help digest a meal from one of the fine local restaurants located on the Canal. We provide bikes free of charge for you to enjoy the beauty of the area at a slow and more tranquil pace.

Carcassonne and beyond: The beauty of Villa Rene is that an array of activities are only minutes away from tranquil Trebes. The citadel of Carcassonne is a perfectly restored medieval town and is one of France's top attractions. The Festival de Carcassonne takes place each July and the festivities on Bastille Day, July 14, are indeed spectacular. Les Spectacles Medievaux takes place in August for two weeks. La Cite hosts other music and cultural events throughout the year.
For the 'outdoor types', riding stables are a short distance away and the nearby Lac de la Cavayere provides a variety of activities for the whole family. There are sandy beaches and woods with marked cycle routes and a beautiul walk around the Lake.
Other areas of interest which can be easily reached from Trebes include the Cathar Castles, Beziers with its massive 14th-century Cathedrale St-Nazaire and Narbonne with its Mediterranean beach.
We are about 1.5 hrs from the Pyrennes so very well placed for skiing and hiking.
