This is a mammoth complex, not something I really understood at the time of booking. Upon arrival we discovered expensive parking fees which were not included in the booking. We had received an email before arrival advising us to book restaurants but didn’t realise this would mean we would not be able to get a booking at a reasonable time on the day.
When we are away we like to see how we feel on the day but this does not work here, we didn’t go to the spa as again this needed to be booked in advance, all of this is via the hotel site.
We visited the cellar bar which was like a pub , there was one inexperienced staff member alone there and we waited over 10minutes for her to try to get the previous person a receipt, she then served us two drinks and told us no cash and when we pointed out she was overcharging us accordingly to the bar tariff she just said sorry that’s wrong and we paid the higher price.
As I said this hotel did not suit us but I must say it is a very nice hotel with beautiful rooms and for an organised couple then it would be great I’m sure and I must say the meals we received in room service was exceptional.
