    Castleton Farms is a sprawling, 500-acre compound at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park with a working animal farm, fishing ponds, and gorgeous views. A five-mile paved footpath spans the property and is perfect for walking, jogging, or biking. Visit the friendly menagerie with emus, goats, chickens, a pig, donkeys, a zebra, and a zonkey. The magnificent Pool House has an indoor pool, and hot tub (Additional  fee — paid at check-in).

Best place to stay near Shenandoah!!

We booked this cabin as a last minute trip to hike old rag and also bring our pup along and it was more than I could've imagined!! Have stayed in this area before and this place knocked all others out of the park we will definitely be back!

Secluded getaway!

Secluded cabin on beautiful property! Great to walk the trails on the property and only 30 min drive from Shenandoah National Park.

A magic place!

I had a wonderful time on the farm. The trails around the property are beautiful. The cottage was clean and everything from check-in to check-out was easy. I will definitely stay there again!

Tranquil comfort

The check in process was painless and the property is stunning! It was so nice to be able to enjoy the fire pit and look up at the stars at night. Would highly recommend and I definitely plan on coming back.

The views! Come visit the country

Your perfect escape from the city - clean, cozy, with a cute electric fireplace, and a Jacuzzi. Check in was easy and the farm is amazing! Highly recommend and we will be back.

We had a great stay at blue ridge cottage. Great little cottage and hot tub was a treat after days hiking. The staff were so friendly and service superb will certainly be back ! Thank you!!!

Gorgeous property

The cottage was well appointed and fun. The bathroom and bedroom are on different levels so be prepared for that. It was nice having the hot tub but it had a ton of bugs in it. The views and land were beautiful. Never able to find the animals and the office was closed on a Sunday so no one to ask for assistance. The directional arrows at the property are very confusing.

Great Place To Get Away

Truly isolated if that is what you are looking for. We were. The Castleton Meadows grounds are really interesting and novel. The fact that it’s pet friendly is great because there’s plenty of space to let dogs run. The trail is only about 1.25 miles, but it is beautiful and challenging if you are a runner. Pretty much the whole of the area is running/walking friendly, so you aren’t confined to the trail. The staff is wonderful and helpful. The location is near enough to the National park that you can spend a full day doing Shenandoah related things. Cabin 2 in particular is quiet and relaxing. It lacks a freezer (we thought the crisper was the freezer and that got messy), so plan accordingly. The internet is not terribly fast, but that’s inherent with the isolation and frankly added to the solitude we were seeking. It’s right next to the fitness center, but in my opinion it’s best to just get out and explore the vast grounds for exercise. All and all, the experience was lovely.

Cozy and Comfortable

My wife and I were in town for dinner at the Inn at Little Washington, and we very much enjoyed our cabin getaway. Enjoying a night cap in the hot tub as the sun was setting was quite the treat. Highly recommend staying here!

Very relaxing!

The cottage was perfect for the two of us and had everything we needed! There was a pipe line that busted and the hospitality manager put us in another house right away. The privacy was very nice as well as the hot tub. He was very friendly and I would def stay again!

You won't find better!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Castleton and the Blue Ridge Cottage. When you talk about the total package this is it. Getting there was a breeze, the grounds were lovely, the cottage was impeccable, and the hot tub was perfect. Plus there is a well-stocked gym on site and we got to pet and see so many amazing animals. Paul and Connie made our stay truly wonderful and I cannot wait to return. For anyone getting out of 'the city', this is the place to go.

Absolutely lovely

My partner and I stayed at Castleton for my birthday weekend. We were arriving late, so they had the lights and AC on for us, so it was easy to get in and relax without having to check in at the hospitality office. Everything was clean and comfortable. The property was gorgeous, and we loved our views and taking walks around the paths and seeing the cows and the ZONKEY!!. There was a hot tub right outside, and the indoor tub was actually big enough for two. The kitchen was clean and had all the pans and utensils you could need. The only downside was the wifi is kind of spotty, so my partner had trouble connecting to his zoom meetings. Oh, the other downside is the cottage was so comfortable, that we never actually made it to the pool lol Indefinitely want to return for another stay

A relaxing getaway

In order for me to relax, I need in a place that is clean and does not overstimulate. This property exceeded my expectations. Once this property is booked, Connie communicated very clearly what is on the property and what you may need to bring with you.

Wonderful place to stay surrounded by beautiful country with rich history

We really enjoyed our stay at Castleton. Connie and Paul were so nice and took care of anything we needed. The property has so much history and there is a convenient walking path so you can see all the animals. I am a big Civil War buff and there is so much history around that area as well as the Manor house on he property. Also, if you are a golfer like I am there is a really cool par 3 course not far from here and they are dog friendly which is very rare. I would love to visit again sometime!

Awesome weekend getaway!

Very clean and enjoyable cottage to stay in with all amenities provided. Connie was always available and the property was beautiful with miles of rolling hills and plenty of places to walk around the perimeter of the grounds. Our son enjoyed seeing all of the different animals and swimming in the indoor/heated pool & hot tub was a weekend highlight! Absolutely no complaints whatsoever about our stay and we look forward to when we’re able to book another weekend!

Couples Cabin in the Country

Perfect cabin for a couples get away. Very clean, beautiful property, and exactly as pictured. Appreciated the small touches like the bath robes, extra towels, and assortment of coffee/tea! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Relaxing Getaway

My wife and I stayed at the Blue Ridge Cottage for a long weekend and absolutely loved it. Everything was clean and everyone working at the property was extremely helpful. The views were gorgeous, the property was practically silent, and the hot tub at our cottage was perfect for unwinding with some nighttime stargazing. The trails were fantastic, and we loved being able to stop and chat with the animals! The goats are especially talkative. Overall, we had a perfect relaxing weekend.

Definitely Coming Again!

We’ve had our honeymoon cancelled twice and this was the perfect long weekend honeymoon getaway! We were able to bring our dog and I can say everyone loved it. It was exactly what we needed. Connie was so lovely and made sure to answers any questions we had. We are already planning our next visit in the spring!
