We had an amazing time on the property! Host was fantastic! Clean and perfect for our dog. Would definitely come back - but will avoid the negative tides during the winter! Love this side of the island!

The house had bats living in the walls. The management company was very responsive, tried to find us alternative accommodations, and refunded us our entire fee. However, they admitted that they knew about the bats and did not disclose that when we booked, and we lost an entire day of our vacation. We ended up finding a bigger, cleaner place without bats at a cheaper rate from a different management company elsewhere on the island.

Christmas get away

Loved our stay at the Flounder Inn. Myself, my husband, and our 2 grown sons met here for Christmas and we had a fun and relaxing long weekend. The house was very comfortable and had that welcoming feeling. Very peaceful and serene outside and a very nice view.

Always a great trip.

Third time staying at the Flounder Inn. It’s very cozy and comfortable. Always clean and is in a great location with access to the water. Hope to see you again in the spring.

Cute, Cozy, Perfect

We just stayed at the most charming beachfront property in Cedar Key, and it was a dream come true! From sipping coffee on the porch while watching dolphins play to falling asleep to the soothing sound of waves, every moment was magical. The décor was cozy, the views were breathtaking, and the sunset? Absolutely unforgettable. If you're looking for a slice of coastal heaven, this is the place to be! Can't wait to come back!

Mini family vacation.

We enjoyed everything about our stay at Flounder Inn. The house is dated and so is the kitchen equipment but it was so comfortable and cozy who cares! The location is not near town but we liked the privacy. The kids loved fishing off the dock and it made for some great bonding time. We were so happy with our stay!!!

Property is advertised. Loved sitting on the upstairs deck, watching & hearing the birds & enjoying the view! Loved all the space. Everything you need in the kitchen! Enjoyed walking down the dock & watching the fish jumping!

Always a Great Stay

Second time staying at the Flounder Inn and I will definitely be back. Its very cozy yet roomy with plenty of privacy and only 5 minutes from downtown. To be honest its bigger than I need but the access to the water is what sold me on it. Now its my number 1 choice for a week of kayak fishing in Cedar Key. See you again this fall.

Beautiful view

Had a few issues with some roaches found in kitchen and fridge on our arrival. However, the view out back was beautiful. It was spacious and organized. Property managers were fantastic with their communication.

Flounder Inn was the perfect get away.

I was only looking for a place to relax and fish from my kayak for a few days. This place exceeded my expectations. It’s located perfectly and was very cozy and relaxing. I paddled out into the flats every day and caught some amazing redfish, trout, and snook. I hope you have a few days for me this spring because I’m definitely coming back. Ohh by the way. The town is very quaint and laid back with very friendly locals I tried most of the restaurants and they were all great.

Great house, great view

We love rustic so Flounder Inn was perfect for us…no frills but most modern conveniences. For some reason I thought the house had Wi-Fi so I was surprised to find it doesn’t. My daughter could pull it up on her phone and somehow connected me for a short period of time each day. It really wasn’t a problem…but head’s up to those expecting it. We are nature folks so spent a lot of time roaming the area…the shell mound, a few nature trails around, etc. And of course ate as much seafood as possible. A nice few days in a nice location.

Rustic is a good verb...

The property is pleasant and although rustic was fine. Plenty of room... but we had a rude awakening when after lights out I had to get up for something and turned on the kitchen light and found the kitchen alive with roaches. I reported it to the Management and they said it was palmetto bugs. ha ha. I know palmetto bugs and these were roaches. Also, we told them we would be 4 guests and were left to share 3 bath towels. On the positive side there is a nice porch overlooking a tidal creek and it is very peaceful and quiet.

Peaceful and Serene

We had a great stay at the Flounder Inn. The property was a nice, quiet location that met our needs and had excellent amenities, including a well-stocked kitchen and the use of complimentary kayaks. Cedar Key Museum was around the corner, and there was a multi-species parade in the cove out back of the property every evening at low tide. The property managers were available and concerned without being overbearing. Just the right blend of checking in and giving us space. A couple of recommendations: 1) consider renting a golf cart, as the property is a couple of miles from most restaurants and shops. We used Cedar Key Adventures, and they were reasonable and readily available. 2) Be aware that the tides will greatly impact your ability to get in and out of the property via kayak. You will want to time your outings nearer to high tide, to ensure enough water. 3) Check out Cedar Keyhole Artists Co-op for an eclectic selection of art by local and regional artists. 4) The short drive to the Fanning Springs and Manatee Springs State Parks, to the Chiefland farmer's flea market, and to Old Hickory bakery were worth the time.

Summer Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Flounder Inn. The area is unique with Dock Street and all the shops, restaurants, boat tours about 2 miles away. Spending time at the house and experiencing the changes in the tides was memorable. Fishing from the pier with the provided finishing gear was fun! Those crabs will snap your line! To our surprise, we almost caught a small shark. We were able to use the kayaks several times, too and were startled by dolphin. The birds and wildlife, the nature noises from all aroun, the briney smell of the gulf, sunsets and afternoon rain showers were enjoyed right from the porches. The Cedar Key Museum and Cemetery Point hiking trail are within easy walking distance. Several Springs are around an hour's drive if wanting to exploree further. The house itself has plenty of room, sleeping options, cool AC to escape the heat and humidity when needed, and more character than I can describe to make our Summer Trip memorable. Thank you for making this space available to us to make our own memories and continue the tradition of Flounder Inn

Overall good stay

Very quiet & relaxing. The property was stocked with the essentials. There was more than enough space to be together or separate if personal space was needed. The kayaks were an added bonus. The biting bugs were relentless. We had to keep a citronella candle burning whenever in the kitchen & when on either deck (along with applying plenty of bug spray). Taller people were not top of mind when the shower head was installed. I’m 5’8” (the shortest in my family) & it was at my eye level. Our 6’2” 17 year old basically had to get on his knees to wash his hair / rinse himself off. The buoy, hanging over the door, in which the fridge resides, appears to have been glued down. My son & I both hit our heads on it & ended up with glue in our hair.

not like it was listed

The place was dirty,dingy, and depressing.There was a big hole in bathroom door. They said it was from the hurricane. I dont think so. The BBQ outside that we planned on cooking on was rusted out and not iusable.It was listed as two bathrooms, and there was 1 and 1/2.The one side of patio door would not lock. I could open from outside. We called McCormick (the company in charge to tell them we wont be staying there and wanted money back. They said "well, its not fancy. Its a fishing cabin" It did not say that anywhere in the listing. If it did, I would not have booked it. Had not intention on fishing.They said we had to contact VRBO for that. I always thought going through VRBO I was sure it would be checked out. I dont trust VRBO anymore. Really messed up our Christmas trip.

Loved the house. It’s quite functional and comfortable. Not fancy but definitely fabulous. Sunsets were great. We saw a lot of birds. The pink spoonbills were out every afternoon.We will surely return.

Old Florida

This camp was well appointed, comfortable, and easy to access. Extra effort had been made to welcome guests. We used the fishing poles and the kayaks. I would suggest adding the need for the no-see-um smoker rings for the porch. Loved Cedar Key!
