Entire Family Friendly House "Villa Archondisa" in the Old Town

  • Vive como un local en esta bonita casa de pueblo en el corazón de Chania. Con sus paredes encaladas, persianas azules brillantes y balcón de hierro forjado, Archondisa se destaca entre la multitud en lo que ya es una calle pintoresca. Desde su balcón que da a la calle, puede ver a las bulliciosas multitudes ocuparse de sus asuntos. O, si prefieres, dirígete a la terraza de la azotea de la casa de estilo veneciano, simplemente amueblada con tumbonas y una sombrilla. Allí eres recompensado con una vista de 270 grados del pueblo, las montañas y el puerto.

    En el interior, el encanto de Archondisa continúa con su combinación de camas de estilo antiguo, muebles tradicionales y suelos de madera y mármol. La planta baja cuenta con sala de estar, chimenea, cocina básica y baño con ducha. Hay escaleras empinadas a la habitación doble del segundo nivel, la habitación doble del tercer piso y la terraza de la azotea. Dado que la casa está en el corazón de las calles llenas de macetas de Chania, está a solo tres minutos a pie de las tabernas locales. Y la playa y el puerto, rodeados de cafeterías y restaurantes, se encuentran a 15 minutos a pie.

Great location.

Very good stay. Many restaurants, bars and shopping within walking distance. Very clean place.

Great location within the Old Town Walls. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Went to nearby supermarket for breakfast supplis. Greeted by the host, given wine, water and a fruit bowl. Happily recommend

Great neighborhood!

The property was exactly what we expected, and the neighborhood was darling. Restaurants and shops for blocks. It could get a little noisy late at night, but overall was a fun experience!

Fun on the main drag

Our host met us at night after our very delayed arrival and led us personally up the street to our place where we found a full bowl of fresh fruit and a nice bottle of wine. He directed us to a grocery and gave a few recommendations for dining out. One evening we had a happy hour on the street with our friends and met friendly strangers there on the street. It is a FUN, central location in a cute Venetian architectural village. Thumbs Up!

Über den Dächern von Chanias Altstadt ...

... konnten wir abends auf der Dachterrasse bei angenehmer Temperatur den Rundblick und die Atmosphäre des Viertels bei dem vom Vermieter geschenkten Wein und Obst genießen. Mit gemütlicher Wohnküche im EG und je einem Schlafraum im 1. und 2. OG , jeweils mit Balkon, war genug Platz für uns. Morgens mussten wir etwas tapfer sein, weil die Warmwasserbereitung durch das Solarmodul auf dem Dach etwas träger war als wir. So konnten wir erfrischt zum Frühstück in einem der Lokale der Straße aufbrechen.

Very cute and clean but noisy

We thought this place was adorable and it was very clean, which we appreciated. The location for convenience sake cannot be beat - so close to EVERYTHING. Unfortunately, being so close to everything means it was very difficult for all four of us to sleep. People walking on the streets below were so loud until about 11 at night that it sounded as though they were IN the apartment with us. There were cat fights either on the roofs or in the streets at night and those were loud too. Also, not in regards to location, but the floors creak so badly in both bedrooms that if any one of us got out of bed in the night to move around at all, it woke everyone else in the house up. There’s no way for the people staying on the 3rd floor bedroom (double bed) to go downstairs to the bathroom at night without creaking across the floors and walking through the 2nd story bedroom (thus waking everyone up). It’s unfortunate, because the house has a lot of charm and is very cute. Maybe if we had all had earplugs… Also, the bathroom was a bit tricky. Very clean when we arrived, but the toilet seemed to leak a bit at the base and it was impossible to keep the shower water from leaking out, so the marble floor was wet and slick all the time. The heat pump in the 2nd floor bedroom never seemed to work, so it got a bit chilly at night (we were in Chania the first week of May and the sun didn’t really come out). Complimentary fruit and wine upon arrival were very nice!

Great stay in Chania

Perfect stay in Chania, the owner Antonis was there to great us. The house is in an ideal location walking distance to anything in a lovely little street with numerous restaurants and shops. It was just me and my wife but would be prefect for a family or two couples.

Ideal location

Amazing spot in old town Chania. Awesome roof top patio to watch the sunsets and so close to the harbour. Loved the house! Like stepping back in time.

Chania apartment

Perfect apartment in the old town. Close to everything, it was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. The roof top patio was amazing!

4 great weeks

Just returned from 4 glorious weeks in this lovely property set in the Old Town. Well situated to see all the endless attractions of Chania and Neo Chora beach is only 10 mins away. The owner Antonis is excellent both in booking process but being available throughout our stay.He even arranged our airport transfers. Really recommend this property as a base in this unique part of Crete

I had a great stay at this house

Everything was just fine for me, the host is very professional and welcoming, we had good communication before and during my stay, he even picked me up at the local airport (a nice bonus as I was a first guest in the season:). The house is greatly located, everthing is close and a walking distance. And the terrasse makes that bit extra for a happy stay! I recomend this place as it's full of character and in a great location, also a great value for money. Perhaps the kitchen and bathroom are simple, but that is a part of the charm!
