It is a beautiful property with loads of character, which is at the same time charming and somewhat unnerving. We were told (multiple times in different ways) to be very careful with the furniture as some of it is 200 years old. We are always very careful, but traveling with kids, anything can happen. Maybe don't have 200 year old valuable pieces of furniture in a rental house? By the way, the furniture may be 'historic', but it's not very comfortable, to be honest. The house is otherwise very well-equipped and was great for our group, we had a fantastic time. The location is good, with absolutely spectacular views out the back, but also very close to the road in the front which was also a concern with pets and kids. In any case, the exterior is gorgeous; I'm sure if we had had better weather, we would have enjoyed the outside even more. There seems to be a rear addition to the house, which is where the owners apparently stay sometimes (we were also told about this) They were not there during our stay, but it would have made everything quite uncomfortable if they had been (sorry, but true, no one wants the property owners right there when they rent a vacation house) When we read about this we figured they had a separate house within the multi-acre property, not a wall-to-wall annex attached to the house. It was a great stay overall, with a lot to like, but with room for improvement as well (mattresses, window treatments...)
