DO NOT GO - Construction in your Face
We rented this home for a three-night stay with family. When we arrived, we found that construction was on both sides of the property even though it is advertised as only "nearby" on the site. In standing by the hot tub we were face to face with the construction workers hammering on the roof next door so there was NO privacy! We alerted the host and got back the 120 we paid extra to use the hot tub. This is the first place I have ever had a "hot tub fee" most are free with the property. The entry level of the home was clean, however the lower level smelled of mold &mildew. Black mold was present. The outdoor deck and furniture were in need of a very good cleaning before they could be used. Overall the outdoor grounds were a mess and weeds needed to be cut. With construction so close nails were a fear in parking.The host was to coordinate a boat and jet skis for us for our trip, however we were told at the last minute that these were not available for the week. I alerted the host to the many issues and told her we would not be staying the remaining two nights. We cleaned up the place; left promptly the next morning. I requested a refund for the remaining two nights, which seems fair given that we did not stay the additional two nights. Had several calls with VRBO and the host. She has refused to provide a refund up to this point. I am told by VRBO that it is totally up to the host. My next option is small claims court, which seems crazy; but a refund seems only fair
