Wedding Stay

Overall location was great, peaceful and quiet. Needs improvement on pest control related to spider web at the doors and windows inside and out and ants in the kitchen.

Enjoyable family holiday cottage

Queen Mary cottage was perfect for our family holiday with the rest of our party staying at Anne Boleyn cottage next door. A lovely welcome of tea, coffee, biscuits and the all important pint of milk. Well equipped although we could have done with a stairgate for the dog but we improvised with the clothes airer. Nice big courtyard for BBQs and some lovely dog walks straight from the front door. We all enjoyed visiting the castle too.

Lovely short break

The cottage was lovely and very easy to live in, the double bed is a little small but ok. Garden bigger than expected. Lots of very nice walks and dog friendly places to go. We enjoyed our visit to the castle which was very interesting and informative. A pity you are unable to walk the dogs in the gardens but understand why not. We would return but to a larger cottage.

Nice well equipped cottage, great location but in need of TLC both inside and out. Wifi very intermittent which affected smart tv and mobiles.

Holiday

Lovely cottage, very well placed. Very loud music from work men wasn't good ,odd seats at dinning table and very lumpy double bed, why with such a lovely cottage fall down on such silly things.

Picture postcard inside, neglected outside.

The cottage was lovely and provided what was needed the level of detail provided ahead of arrival was excellent, best I've seen. The area of disappointment was the outside space which was seriously neglected. The courtyard style space should have been excellent, plenty of seating and a BBQ. But, weeds thistles etc are thriving, to the extent that I had to crush underfoot some very tall spikey weeds by the back door step to prevent being scratched coming in and out. These weeds cover all the paths & gravel areas front and back have not been kept under control for a very long time. This isn't a couple of weeks of growth. Consequently it rather overshadowed how I thought of the place, the more I looked the more I saw. The area for parking was in a dreadful condition. There is an abandoned car which is so neglected the weeds are halfway up the sides of the car! Really lets the whole place down.

A lovely cottage with plenty of thoughtful extras

Beautifully clean and well furnished, with please outside seating and thoughtful extras such as a welcome pack of biscuits, milk, etc. Some minor decorative issues (bathroom windowsill, for example) and small oversights (such as flashlight batteries being flat). The wifi was pathetic and we were not convinced the router was switched on. Overall an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Comfortable stay

We had a nice stay despite the weather. The car parking is excellent and the cottage well equipped. We thought it a little expensive but probably about right for the area. We have never had to pay a cleaning charge before. Free entrance to Sudely Castle is an added bonus.

Great litte place for exploring the Cotswolds

Easy to find and with ample parking available, this was a great little place for our family weekend away to explore the Cotswolds. The free entrance to Sudeley Castle was a bonus. The cottage was well equipped and well presented. Our only observation was the prior water leak from the shower that had come through to the ceiling below. It would be great if this could be sorted out.

All adequate and very clean.

We enjoyed our stay despite the weather. Top marks for cleanliness. Pretty well equipped. Most things worked but shower head needed replaced and toaster threw the electrics on the final morning. There were four of us and an eight month old and it was tight on room upstairs. I would say better for two or three people. Being picky, a few baking trays and salad bowl would have helped. Easy access to car at the rear which was really handy. We stayed here over 20 years ago and the cottages have been well maintained and updated on the whole but the setting and surroundings are now tatty compared to what they were and could do with a good gardener. Same to be said for Sudeley castle. We were so looking forward to visiting the castle and gardens and what a disappointment. The castle gardens were tatty and overgrown , odd looking elephants made from wood scattered throughout and bizarre civil war exhibition which seemed aimed at school trips. We wouldn’t visit the gardens again. There are plenty of beautiful gardens relatively close by. To end on a positive note, the White Hart really close to the cottages up castle street was great for Sunday lunch and fish and chips. Book though they get busy.

Home from Home

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Queen Mary. The cottages are in a lovely quiet location and the inside space is very comfortable for us and the dog. A short walk into the village provides great pubs and places to eat. Love being in the grounds of the Castle and there are so many lovely walks to enjoy. A couple of niggles, we needed to wash the kitchen floor with us and the dog traipsing in and out and I couldn't find a bucket and mop. Plus not enough toilet rolls supplied. :-)
