Beautiful property but management let us down
We enjoyed our time in this classic Chicago house on a tree-lined street in Andersonville —it's full of charm and character. The house was clean, the kitchen was impressively well-stocked with equipment, linens were great and the beds were comfortable. It was a great home base for our family in town for a birthday celebration in Andersonville. There were a couple of issues during our stay that bring the experience to a 4-star level: there was conflicting communication about the checkout time, and the upstairs bathroom shared by the bedrooms had a non-functioning toilet that didn’t fill with water, which was inconvenient - we reported this on our first full day but the management company was unable to resolve. However, I’m giving this listing a 3-star rating overall because of a significant issue with the booking process on VRBO. We were charged tax twice. We brought this to the attention of the management company, but they declined to resolve it. Future guests should be aware of this discrepancy and carefully check the fees - tax appears in two places and in our case was more than 50% of the total fee.
