For walkers, the area is a delight. Numerous country walks begin right from the village, taking you through rolling fields, wooded valleys and classic Cotswold scenery. The nearby Cotswold Way National Trail offers spectacular routes with far-reaching views, while cyclists will find plenty of quiet country lanes to explore.
Marshfield is perfectly positioned for visiting both Bath and Bristol, the former around 15 minutes drive and the latter around 20. Getting Around:
For those bringing a vehicle, free on street parking is available in the surrounding streets. Marshfield benefits from great travel connections, being only around 15-20 minutes drive off the M4 into the Cotswolds. London Heathrow is around an hour and half drive, and Bristol airport is around 1 hour.
For those travelling by public transport, the closest train station is in Chippenham, where trains operated by South Western Railway run all the way from London Paddington. It's then around a 20 minute drive to the cottage - both taxis and car hire are available from the station. Kemble station is also a similar distance but is less well serviced by taxis and car hire.
