Never again

Noone here when we arrived at 1.55pm and still no one here later in the afternon when we tried to check in -I had booked 3 rooms for 3 different groups and they had pre charged my credit card as much as they could prior to us arriving This has never happened before i have always been told this just a holding card as this is a small limit card I dont actually use it to pay my own accommodation or anyone elses I book and this has put the card into overdraught I was told they could only refund $300 a day they did this Fri and Mon so didnt get into credit status over the weekend -really angry about this its never happened before unacceptable, Place very very run down and not clean -had to ask for clean towels and loo paper, toliet not bolted down properly,sink taps also not attached properly,shower floor moved and leaked into the next door toliet, no dish cloth,rubbished not emptyed during the stay,furniture very shabby and worn out, property wasnt clean, bed roll together a issue - AWFUL PLACE VERY DISAPPOINTED.

The rooms had a strange old food smell to them which was disappointing. Staff upon check in were great but terrible when we went to check out. We were pleased we had lots to do during the days so we literally used the room to sleep instead of spending time there during the day.

Too far from city when you have no transport.

Stay was ok. No reading lights when in bed. Room was old and could do with bringing up to date. Fresh paint job and tidy up. Shower curtains are out of date now.

Close to town centre

This is an older Motel probably in need of a face lift but considering the damage sustained to Christchurch it is understandable that refits are not a priority or a necessity. Friendly and helpful staff, clean amenities and close to CBD. Casino runs a courtesy bus to and from which is a bonus.

Very tired & dated decor. Bedroom Curtains missing hooks with cellotape holding it to wall. Blobs of fat on wall behind oven. Bedlinen smelt of cigarette smoke.

A motel that needs proper housekeeping.

The beds are smelly. Beds not done everyday. Only fresh towels provided each day. Bed bugs are present.

Pros- quiet location. Free off road parking. great free Wifi. Cons- very old, all the windows had broken latches so didn't close right up. front door had lots of gaps around so cold air blowing in. Fan heater not able to warm room up so whole trip was cold. Was not premium bedding. Bedding was cheap and thin lucky there was electric blanket and spare blankets. Was only a fridge with small ice section not a fridge freezer as advertised. Fridge was turned up to full and froze all our vegetables which had to be thrown out. Had to buy own dish cloth so could clean kitchen. No room service for 3 days we stayed. one day they let us have 2 towels but we had no face clothes. No premium TV channels unless you class sky sport and 1 movie channel as premium.

good cheap hotel

Great service. Regular cleaning. Smells bad with cigarettes, all furniture stinks. Clothing and bags smelled like that after our stay. Need heat pump as that small old heater was not enough even when seating next to it. Comfortable beds, electrical blankets kept us warm while sleeping. Very cheap so happy :)

tired and dated

Outside light didn't work, no smoke alarm in the room (Kitchen, bathroom, lounge and bedroom) and it took them 10 minutes to find one. My child came in complaining he couldn't sleep due to "flashing lights", so I swapped beds. The flashing lights were the blue light emanating from the small electric free-standing heater as it shorted out every couple of minutes as it tried to heat up. Just before midnight and I was knocking on the door to get a replacement. But a dodgy fire and no fire alarm- I shudder to think what could have happened. Room smelt a bit funny, pillows smelled of stale smoke, even through the pillow cases. A few old drink bottle lids under the double bed, and a pair of someone's socks in the gap between the bed and the dresser- so have to question the level of cleaning. But if you want to know what late 1970's New Zealand decor looked like book yourself in. For the money we paid hugely disappointed. I have stayed in cheaper places in central Christchurch that were better.

Comfortable basic hotel close to city centre.

Very helpful staff. Basic but clean room with plenty of space. The staff were very polite and helpful. They kept our heavy luggage for us so we cd explore Christchurch before our flight home- very kind. The hotel is in an excellent location for walking into Christchurch. The parking at the hotel was great and easy to access. The shower was basic but it worked perfectly well. We also were given a bottle of milk which made life easy for drinks when we were tired with our travelling! The wifi worked efficiently and it was easy to get online as the instructions were clear and did not have to be asked for- nice and straightforward! The traffic noise was not a problem at all- despite being close to the road - a pleasant surprise! The beds were comfortable and the room could be made a comfortable temperature easily. Thank you. I have written enough now - so I need to finish this as I have lots of jobs that need doing!!!!! So I will just repeat some letters otherwise I will run out of time!!- apologies!! Fhfcvddhvsgjvcdjbcftbcfg hgfjjn fang.

Quiet and clean place to stay.

A pleasant place to stay, there did not appear to be many other guests, so it was very quiet. Very clean. Older style motel but well maintained. Easy 15 minute walk to city. Superette not far away.

Convenient Location, Budget-Oriented

Two couples stayed in 1 unit with kitchenette. It contained one bedroom with a queen bed, a living room with 2 single beds and a fully equipped kitchen. Both the kitchen and a bathroom need updating, especially a shower. Overall it met our budget oriented expectations. The owner was nice. The location of the hotel was in a safe neighborhood, we walked to the city center in 30 minutes. No problem with parking, we were able to park next to our unit's door.

We were a late arrival so room open as promised. Bedroom a bit tight to walk around bed but very comfortable.

Extremely noisy

The staff and some of their guests had a screaming match at 11pm at night, out side my room, the check out time was 10am yet they were trying to open my door at 8.30am to clean it, Would not come back and stay there at all, room was tidy, comfortable, but overall very disappointing. No one was there to check out, the shower was mouldy in the corners,

Near to city

The main bed in our room was made up, but the linen was not clean. The manager was very apologetic and put us into an alternate room. The linen was clean in that one, but the kitchen utensils, chopping board, etc were not very clean, and there was no dish cloth to even wipe anything. The room was very tired with many damaged parts. In the end we didn't feel good enough about the kitchen to use it, so we ate out. walls are paper thin. Not enough room for the bed in the main bedroom. For the price I don't think this was value for money.

Fast Free Unlimited WIFI yippee !

WIFI free unlimited and fast. Any other gripes about a cheap motel are irrelevant when the Wifi is of modern first world standards. New Zealand motels are in another bygone age generally. I have tried to book again but they are often full. Stayed 3 nights instead of one. Thanks to your friendly team!!
